Always a quick and easy visit with Dr. Anderson in Roanoke, but he's still super thorough. Never have long wait times, and the whole staff is friendly and great with kids. He was my dentist as a child and now takes just as good care of my own kid—such consistent pediatric care over the years!

After trying a couple different dentists in the Roanoke area, we came to Dr. Anderson. My child had a lot of anxiety, but he's extremely patient, explains everything in detail, and doesn't rush. They use laughing gas for sedation dentistry to help calm her, and he always makes sure she's comfortable. Love him for handling her dental fears so well!

The dentist was great! My son is 3 and doesn't know the meaning of sitting still. They were so patient with him. I would definitely recommend this dentist for smaller children!
We have been seeing Dr. Anderson now for a couple years he has seen both my son and daughter. We were told my daughter had two holes in her teeth that needed to be filled he said she didn't need have to any numbing and he had an attitude was rude. My daughter was in pain was scared and uncomfortable. I will not be going back to this office again. I do not recommend this office to anyone for your children. Avoid it!!!
My wife and I have had two kids seen by Dr. Anderson in Roanoke since 1997. They've always felt so comfortable and trusting that I only had to go back with them for the first couple years, then they went on their own. No issues with billing, insurance, or waits, and the hygienists and front desk are always helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend this pediatric dentist to anyone in the area!

Been seeing Dr. Anderson in Roanoke for 3 years now. My son loves him and all the staff—always pleasant and professional! When he had front tooth decays and cavities, other pediatric dentists pushed for expensive treatment, but Dr. Anderson went with the least intrusive option, and my little guy's been doing great. Five stars for crown repair and overall care!

As a parent in Roanoke with a 3-year-old son who has Autism, I had severe anxiety about a dental appointment. But this office had a play room and cartoons, and we only waited a few minutes before going back. The dentist followed us right in, and the front staff and hygienist were so understanding and friendly. Made a huge difference for our pediatric care needs.

My wife and I initially took our daughter to this dentist and we were told that she had 5 abscesses, a lot of other work that needed to be done immediately, and we were talked down to, as though we had no clue what we were doing. After this experience, we went to see another dentist in Vinton and we were told that she had 1 abscess and that a couple of minor cavities but that all easy stuff to handle. I am incredibly disappointed at the way we were treated and at the way this dentist tried to upsell us on how much we were going to need to pay to make sure our daughter was good to go. If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would definitely do that. NOTE: Always get a second opinion if you are questioning what they say.
Dr. Anderson and his staff are great with kids. I love how they explain the procedure and then are gentle while they’re working. My boys have never had a bad experience! The office staff is friendly and very helpful!

We have been very pleased with each staff member we’ve met. They are all very kind and professional. However, the wait time for an appointment is close to an hour each time. Even an early morning appointment isn’t on time. This is very frustrating as we’re dealing with a one year old as well as our work schedules.
Dr. Shepperd was absolutely incredible with my son. He sang songs with him and talked to him the whole time and made him feel so comfortable. I didn’t think my son would do that well considering he didn’t do that great at the first dentist we went too. But he did so well with Dr. shepperd. The staff was all nice and super sweet. I’m so happy I found that place for my son thank you all so much!
Fantastic pediatric dental care! Front desk staff has always been accommodating and inviting. They are personably and seem genuinely interested in my (4 & 6yo) childrens’ Well being. While it’s a breeze for my oldest, my younger one is not what i would consider a fan of dentistry in general and the team here assessed and accepted “small” progress - with the doctor doing a quick exam but not forcing the issue to make her more upset. Overall, the doctor’s chair side manner is warm and professional. After both exams he took the time to come over and explain to me what he saw and what to expect over the next few months/years. Lots of tooth fairy action is headed to our household it seems!
Just called to schedule an appointment for my daughter, who is 17. The receptionist was rude, cutting me off while talking, and when she saw that it had been a while since my daughter had been in, she stated that I should find an adult dentist, and didn't know if any that she could refer me to. This is quite disheartening, considering they saw my daughter for dental care from a.very young age. Wouldn't recommend them for anyone at this point.
I asked if they took my insurance and an employee told me "yes!" Turns out they don't and I shouldn't have counted on her answer but should have called my insurance and been sure. Then after paying about $2000 for a few visits between my two kids I left for a practice that accepts my insurance. I asked a lady in the office for the xrays so I could save on those by taking them to the next practice. She said I could come in anytime to pick them up. I went to pick them up and another lady said I had to send a fax or email to release them. So I sent an email with the other practice's fax info and everything I was told to include. They never sent the xrays so I had to pay an unnecessary amount of precious money for new xrays. I called Anderson and Sheppard to complain and someone said to email my complaint. I emailed my complaints and weeks later have heard nothing. I saw the bill for the new pediatrician and even before insurance coverage, the costs are 3 to 4 times lower than Anderson and Sheppard. So, while they were nice enough there, I would be aware that you may be overpaying and getting hassle from incompetent or inconsiderate staff.
