The office was clean and welcoming, and Dr. Baum was professional, calm, and efficient. He handled everything smoothly, and I felt completely taken care of. Definitely recommend if you need emergency dental care. It's out-of-pocket, but the immediate care is worth it.

Can't say enough good about Dr. Eric. I was visiting home from out of town and needed an emergency solution for all the pain I was in. It was so easy to get seen even on Christmas Eve. He was incredibly patient, kind, and comforting. I've always had trouble getting numb, but he made sure I didn't feel a drop of pain during a bridge removal and tooth extraction. 12/10 recommend for emergency dental care in Commack.

Yesterday I had a back tooth that became really loose after biting into candy. Got nervous and my husband called Stony Brook line, and they transferred us to Dr. Baum's office in Commack. Went in for wisdom tooth extraction. Honestly the best experience I’ve ever had at a dentist. Didn’t feel the shots nor any of the extraction. He was up front about everything. Actually seen things my regular/soon to be former dentist missed like a cavity I’ve been complaining about for months that my regular dentist told me wasn’t there. Dr Baum is now my go to for anything dental related.

Called twice left two voicemails, this guy called me and said they had an appointment available at 10pm..
I said "okay im going to keep that appointment - but if anything comes up, I will call and let you know if I cannot make it, because I have a 3yr old" (the app was going to be at 10 pm!!!)
the guy goes "well I can't give u an appointment then because people need to be seen, and I can't make an appointment for someone who isn't going to show up(I never said that) .. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?"
so I said "um? yea I understand, but thats not what I said, & my daughter is 3.. its at 10pm (its 2:30pm right now) which is past her bedtime, I need to have someone come & watch her... and you're being VERY rude.." he goes "ok yea we are NOT going to help you *CLICK*"
I wouldn't go there even if all my teeth were falling out with that attitude and disrespect. They then BLOCKED my number when I tried calling back to speak to a supervisor. Very unprofessional. They clearly dont care about your pain & suffering, they just want $$$.
No, we can not hold an hour, 10pm on a Sunday night, unless you are sure you can come... that's absurd to ask us to do so... other patients need our help as well.
You could have simply made arrangements and called us back, we were very willing to help fix the problems your other dentist left you with this week... that would have been better than yelling at us as we try to help you on a Sunday Evening....

We offered you an appointment that same day...
We offered to help fix the problems you were having after seeing another dentist this week... where is the review of that dentist, who left you in pain, or all the other dentists who wouldn't even offer to help you?
When we schedule an appointment, we allow for at least an hour to help you properly, and give you are full attention, and fix your problem properly.
Our patients receive the best care and always leave happy and feeling better.
Hopefully you got the care you needed, sorry we couldn't just set aside time hoping you could make it.

Dr Baum was kind, professional and very informative. He communicated exactly what the issue was and what the proper course of treatment should be. I needed a root canal which turned into an extraction…. which is a big procedure, and it’s the next day and I feel great with very minimal discomfort. I highly recommend Dr Baum and his services to anyone in need of a tooth emergency or anyone in need of just a really great dentist!

This review is long overdue. My whole family has been going to Dr. Baum for years. He's the best dentist on Long Island! He's thorough, thoughtful, and explains every procedure beforehand. Dr. Baum was great! Was in severe pain at 10pm at night and he was there to take me. Went from pain I couldn't deal with to pain free within a half hour! Very professional and welcoming. Called emergency dentistry late on Saturday night. Dr. Baum told me to come in. He took x rays and showed me that two teeth both done with in the last year by another firm, one being a root canal other repair had failed. Showed me what they should have looked like when teeth where finished and what mine had looked like. There was an infection into the sinus cavity. Performed extraction, stitched my mouth up, sent me home with care package and called antibiotics into pharmacy for me. Next day didn’t have any pain or discomfort. And within 24 hours he text me to make sure I was ok and to check in. Dr. Baum cares about his patients. I would Highly recommend Dr. Baum

Felt very fortunate to find Dr. Baum. A crown and the tooth it was cemented to fell out when brushing on a Friday night. Saturday morning I called several places but Dr. Baum was the only one to call back. He saw me that afternoon and explained why I needed a root canal. It was painless and quick. Just my honest opinion. I called around 8:30pm midweek, wasn't in severe pain but knew I needed to see a doctor. Got an appointment for 10:30pm same night. I didn't like paying $375 over the phone for the appointment and x-rays. Pros: clean office, nice decor, honest doctor, prescribed meds for infection. Cons: waiting room tiny, expensive for Long Island—$950 per tooth for extraction I needed 5 out, outdated x-ray machine. Not sure it's worth it for routine stuff, but they are open late.
