Wish I could give zero stars. My son went in for a routine cavity filling at Beautiful Smile Dental in Newport Beach, CA. He left feeling like it wasn't done right. A few months later, that tooth died and he needed an emergency root canal costing $7,500! The dentist who fixed it said he'd never seen such bad work. We'll be sending Dr. Nguyen the bill. Don't go here.

Had to see for myself despite the bad reviews. I made an appointment for a routine cleaning, gave my insurance info, but they pushed for a deep cleaning. When I refused, they said I couldn't get a regular cleaning covered by insurance and wanted $250 for the deep cleaning. Everything the comments say is true. Glad I didn't let them work on my teeth.

Check your explanation of benefits after visiting this place. They're running an insurance scam, charging for services not provided, thinking patients won't notice. I contacted my insurance to report them. Hope they go out of business for being so shady and greedy.

Worst experience ever. On my first visit, Dr. Nguyen recommended crowns for 5 or 6 teeth. I agreed to just one, but that crown was slightly larger than my tooth, causing discomfort. A year later, a new dentist found inflammation inside the tooth and said I need a root canal. Don't come here.

Honestly the worst dental experience I've ever had. The office was unorganized, the drilling was aggressive, and they left two holes open without telling me. Now I have pain that never existed before, and my teeth are super sensitive to hot and cold. I can barely eat or sleep. So sad I have to spend more to fix this.

Worst dentist ever! God forbid you need numbing before a procedure. She literally stabs you with the needle so you are in agony! She comes in late, and makes you wait in the chair forever after she's stabbed you...by the time she comes back, whatever numbing she gave you is long gone. Worst experience of my life. Will never go back ever!

This place needs their license removed. I went for a regular cleaning covered by insurance, and all they cared about was upselling. They said a regular cleaning wouldn't help and pushed a deep cleaning not covered by insurance. When I refused, they said I had two cavities. I've been to three other dentists who confirmed nothing was wrong. Disgusting practices.

She's very concerned about comfort, gives nearly painless shots, and has a strong work ethic, often working late to take care of patients. Please avoid this place! I was lied to about treatment, fraudulently billed, and will spend thousands fixing Dr. Nguyen's mistakes. She questioned me when I said I wasn't numb, insisting it was pressure. She was impatient, rude, and forgot to give me oral rinse after a procedure. Worst dental experience ever.

SCAM SCAM SCAM Please please do not go to this place. They are absolutely going to have their licenses removed. They are evil people. There are too many issues to list but I will try. They call a patient that they were going to numb her and then completely freaking forgot to before working!!!! They refuse to admit that this was an insane mistake and, instead, proceeded to completely lie and Said that said patient requested not to be numb. This is 100% absolute lies. They will lose their license, I am 100% sure of this, because not only were we lied to about insurance items and told to sign for medication even after it was fully known that we never received the medication, another patient had arrived at the same time and luckily left because he was being involved in the same type of scam by these people. Horrible horrible organization and I do not have enough time to list.

She's simply not a good dentist. She calls natural indentions cavities and fills them to use up insurance benefits. In three years, my entire benefits were used. She put in a crown crooked and kept putting off fixing it. Then she pushed another crown I didn't need. I spent months getting it right elsewhere. Stay away.

I was lied to about treatment by the assistant. Assistant lied to doctor that I didn’t have time to get proper treatment. It was not a miscommunication, the assistant wanted to get out for lunch and lying to the doctor was going to expedite the process. They tried to charge me for a service that wasn’t performed. When confronted I was lied to again. Will be following up with the BBB.
