Very understanding and listens had a great experience overall
If I could give zero stars, I would. I do not recommend this dentistry office. Poor communication from front office staff and refuse to take any accountability. If I can’t trust their front office staff, I definitely don’t trust them to take my toddlers to the back without an adult.
Dr. Shone is always friendly and nice with my kids. He explains everything really well so they feel comfortable, and he answers all my questions thoroughly. Great pediatric dentist in Bloomington!
Thank you! Dr. Shone loves making kids feel at ease. We're happy you're part of Bloomington Pediatric Dentistry.
My son’s first dentist visit went great thanks to Dr. Shone at Bloomington Pediatric Dentistry. He was super patient and understanding, even with my kid being a bit stubborn. Honestly, it was a wonderful experience for both of us. If you're looking for a pediatric dentist in Bloomington, IN, this is the place.
Thank you for sharing that! We're so glad your son's first visit was a success. Dr. Shone and our team love making kids feel comfortable. Hope to see you again soon at Bloomington Pediatric Dentistry.
The dental assistant was rude to me and my child at intake, telling him he didn't need his mommy when he asked for me. They don't allow parents in the back! My son said he had to wipe away his tears before seeing me. For a pediatric specialist, you'd think they'd want parents to comfort their child. He also said he wasn't numbed and felt everything, it was painful. The dentist was kind, but overall a terrible experience.
We're sorry to hear about your experience. That's not the standard we aim for. We'll review our parent policy and ensure better communication. Please contact us so we can address your concerns directly. - Bloomington Pediatric Dentistry
BPD is elite! The staff are incredible. Dr. Taylor and Dr. Shone are not only exceptional dentists but exceptional humans too. The whole vibe inside is fantastic. Best pediatric dentist in Bloomington!

Bloomington Pediatric Dentistry does so good with my young children. They make it a safe, friendly, and comfortable environment. My girls love it and get excited about going to the dentist.
Dr. Taylor has been taking care of my daughter since she was one. He's always kind, informative, and takes time with both patient and parents. We love Bloomington Pediatric Dentistry!
We appreciate your kind words! Dr. Taylor truly cares about his patients. Thanks for being part of our Bloomington family.
The building is beautiful with detailed paintings on every wall. Everything was clean and organized, with cute ghosts hanging from the ceiling. Staff were super friendly! They gave my child two goodie bags (one extra for Halloween) plus a toy. The dentist has a great sense of humor, explained everything thoroughly, and took mindful considerations for my disabled child. You can tell he's passionate. Riley's checkup went great!
Thank you for noticing the little details! We love creating a fun, welcoming environment. Dr. Shone is truly dedicated. See you next time at Bloomington Pediatric Dentistry.
We've been bringing our toddler here for two years and always had good experiences. They're gentle, caring, and explain everything during the appointment. Today, when my child had a mouth injury, they got us in right away for emergency dental service. They were so kind to me (the emotional mom) and explained the procedure and long-term effects clearly. Couldn't be more grateful for the care we've received here in Bloomington.
Thanks so much for trusting us with your child's care, especially during an emergency. We're glad we could help. Dr. Taylor and our team are here for your family anytime at Bloomington Pediatric Dentistry.
Our 19-month-old’s first dentist trip was amazing here. Every staff member was friendly, informative, and patient. The dentist was quick and efficient, explaining everything in detail. She only cried for a few seconds! I wish adult dentist offices were like this. So glad we can keep bringing her here in Bloomington.
We're thrilled her first visit went so well! Our team loves caring for little ones. Thanks for choosing Bloomington Pediatric Dentistry for your family.
My 12-year-old daughter has selective mutism and social anxiety, but Dr. Shone and the staff are amazing. They make her feel comfortable every visit. It's the one appointment she doesn't mind going to. So grateful for this pediatric dentist in Bloomington.
We're honored to care for your daughter. Dr. Shone and our team strive to make every child feel safe. Thank you for trusting Bloomington Pediatric Dentistry.
I'd give this place zero if possible
They should be shut down and idk how they have such high reviews. We were referred here by our regular dentist because my youngest kiddo was having dental anxiety. This place made it 1000× worse. They won't allow parents back which was a big red flag for me but I tried to relax as everyone else seemed okay with it.
My son came out after getting fillings and instantly started bawling. The hygienist said " oh youre fine! you didn't cry a bit back there, knock it off!" So I was already concerned and upset. Because clearly something happend and she was being very rude to him about it.
He said they told him that he "wasn't allowed to cry" and if whenever he started to get tears in his eyes they said "you need to stop youre just scaring the other kids, no one else cries" and when he told them it hurt multiple times they told him "no you cant feel anything just stop being dramatic"
He wasn't fully numbed and cried in pain for over an hour after we left the dentist and it only stopped because I gave him Tylenol. They shouldn't be allowed around children and I immediately canceled all following appointments and won't return. So much for helping with anxiety.
This is an outdated practice. Parents are not allowed to accompany children (as young as 3 years of age) back to the room for the cleaning and examination. No parent should trust a medical establishment that prohibits them from being present during a procedure of any kind or an examination. This is not normal nor standard dental practice.
I have been very anxious about my 2 year olds teeth and the shape they are in. It seemed impossible to get him into a dentist who would take new Medicaid patients. They got him in with a referral the same week! I felt embarrassed as a mom that I let them get to that point (breast feeding at night) but I felt so at ease at his appointment. The nurse and doctor were very detailed with everything and there to help. I am happy to now have a game plan for him and to get his healthy teeth back! I have been to places before with my other children that always, in a way, made me feel shamed as a mother; however, I didn’t not feel this at all today. I felt heard and relieved. I’m so happy to have found this wonderful place! Thank you
I always feel comfortable letting my sons go back with the dental assistants. They're so good with them, even my son who's terrified of the dentist hasn't had any concerns since starting here. They're always kind to him. Great pediatric dentistry in Bloomington.
We're glad your sons feel comfortable! Our assistants are fantastic with anxious kids. Thanks for trusting Bloomington Pediatric Dentistry.
Shout out to Dr. Taylor to go above and beyond for my daughter with Special needs. She was scared to go into the office for appt appointment. He came out to parking lot and told me to pull behind building . He came to my car and did evaluation in car . She was happy and cooperative with this .
My husband brought my son to here and had nothing but amazing things to say. We are new to the area and traveled to come here because they could get my son right in. He (the dentist) explained everything very thoroughly and made sure my husband understood what he was talking about. He Made my son very comfortable and did so well. Highly highly recommend. We will continue to make the drive to them because they’re worth it.
We love Bloomington Pediatric Dentistry. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming to our kiddos. The office is kid friendly and my kids honestly can't wait to go to the dentist. They love going which makes the experience so much easier on everyone. The dentists have always listened to any questions or concerns and do not make us feel rushed. Definitely recommend!
I'm bummed to leave a 1 star review, as the nurses and dentists are all fantastic with kids. They have a policy that the parent can't go back with their child for cleanings. This is incredibly inappropriate for preschool age children and they do not allow exceptions. My son is 3 and still unable to communicate well in new and uncertain situations and absolutely couldn't advocate for himself if needed. I'm shocked that everyone there acted like it was perfectly acceptable.
I was not informed of this policy until we were in the waiting room heading back for the appointment.
I have moved to a different dentist, and will not return.
