Honestly, my first experience trying to schedule a pediatric dental checkup for my son at this Roanoke, VA clinic was really disappointing. When I called to explain what was going on, I felt rushed to get to the point. Then they told me the lobby was too full and couldn't take my info, just said to call back tomorrow. The receptionist was pretty rude, rushing me off the phone. After that, I don't plan on making any future appointments here.

Can't love this place enough! My granddaughter got really nervous during her visit, but the staff here in Roanoke asked about her favorite song and artist, played it on their phone, and held her hand. The dental work was done super quick. They really went above and beyond to make her comfortable with her pediatric dental care.

Slow doesn't even begin to describe it. There are way too many patients and not enough staff at this Roanoke pediatric dental clinic! They stay booked solid and everything moves at a snail's pace. With all the money Carilion has, they need to build another office with more staff who can provide faster emergency dental care and regular appointments.

Such friendly staff at this Roanoke clinic! Each room is decorated to cater to kids - we got the Spider-Man room and loved it. TVs keep them distracted, and even the waiting room has climbing furniture for energetic little ones. Our hygienist was great too. Definitely recommend this place for pediatric dental checkups in Virginia!

The dental care office at Tanglewood in Roanoke is nice overall. Staff is polite and sweet to kids. But Dr. Christina Miller takes a lot of time off - we've had appointments cancelled a few times because of it. Have to wait 6 months to be seen when rescheduled. Staff even mentioned she likes taking time off. I gave 4 stars because the rest of the team is good with cavity fillings and other services, but Dr. Miller needs to decide if she wants to work or not.

I live 1 hour and 20 mins from Roanoke. It has definitely been worth the drive to take my daughter to this dentist!! She has anxiety and she just didn't trust the hygienist or dentist in a local office.

Took my grandchild for her cleaning at this Roanoke clinic a month ago, got there only to be told the dentist was sick and we needed to reschedule. Understandable, but it took months to get in originally, then they scheduled another month out! Front staff was rude like they didn't want to be bothered. Went back today - same rude attitude up front. The dental hygienist was nice and understood my 5-year-old's anxiety, but the dentist showed her sharp objects and said 'be quiet.' Not great for emergency dental care situations.

This place is awful they schedule appointments that works best for there dentist not the parent. Then they are months out and if you miss three in a year they dismiss you. They say they'll call and remind you and then they don't. The best dentist they had left the practice anyway.

This was our first visit here today and my son was so nervous, Marci was able to calm him down and he wasn’t nervous any longer. Such a friendly group of people! It’s very clean and they’re very informative! Thank you Marci for being so awesome!
When I scheduled the appointment for my boys, they never mentioned infants couldn't go in the rooms. I even told them on the phone I had a newborn. Never once was it mentioned. I drove over a hour! To get here and be told my newborn (in a tula) completely covered up, can't go back with me due to covid! Are you serious. I wish they would have told me when we were on the phone the 3 times they called me. Then want to get rude with me because I dont want my small child to go back by himself!
We had a great first visit today at this Roanoke pediatric dental office! All the staff was kind and helpful, making my 6-year-old completely comfortable. Dr. Jones was great, and his assistant was friendly too. The paperwork was normal for any doctor's visit. The lady at checkout was so sweet to my daughter, even giving her a stuffed animal she admired. Really positive experience with teeth cleaning and everything else.

I haven’t experienced anything but terrible communication. My son is two years old and he fell on his front tooth last week. Now his tooth is turning black. Anyway I have been leaving messages and nobody was returning my calls. I call back today and press 1 and the receptionist tells me they aren’t accepting new patients. Which is fine. But her delivery wasn’t the greatest. Just real short and rude. I use to be a dental assistant so I’m praying this tooth turns back to it’s normal color soon. I’m kind of glad this happened with this office. I know not to bring my child here ever. He doesn’t deserve it! Please wish me luck parents. I’m trying everywhere.

The doctors are wonderful but the receptionist are always rude, always have a look on their face like they hate there job. Takes FOREVER to get an appointment. My child was seen and told she had a cavity in November 2018 and it wasn't taken care of till August 2019! If I could find another pediatric dentistry I would change but I'm stuck with this one. It's basically just a level up from kool smiles.

My children go here. The dentist and the nurses are very friendly however their receptionist are very rude and hateful. Everytime I try to place a bill on my medkey account the receptionist says that she will send it to medkey then I reach out to my medkey to let them know and medkey never receives my bill. The receptionist here treat you like you are dirt beneath them if I could find another dental practice that participated with medkey I would go elsewhere unfortunately I'm stuck with this dental practice. If you have a way of finding a dentist other then this place to work with you I definitely would. It's sad when your children dont even feel welcome at their dental practice.

Been bringing my children to this Roanoke clinic for 12 years now. Very happy with the care they've received. As one of the few dental clinics in the Roanoke area that accepts Medicaid, they do occasionally get busy, but normally my kids are called back quickly. All the doctors and hygienists are friendly and take time to explain any issues. Jac at reception is always helpful - she calls me and my children by name. Have recommended this Virginia pediatric dental clinic to many and will keep doing so!

I was really nervous taking my 4-year-old son to this Roanoke dental office based on reviews when I made his appointment. Thankfully, my experience was different. Another office said he had a cavity, but when we tried to have it filled there, he had severe anxiety and wouldn't cooperate. We tried Carilion Pediatric Dental in Virginia with small hope. Only waited about 20 minutes before he was called back. The dental assistant was very tender and kind to my nervous 4-year-old during what could have been a stressful cavity filling.

Horrible. Treated my son like an animal. Tranquilizing him from across the room. Experience my @**. Gave him so much he stopped breathing . Pulled 4 teeth for no reason. It's been 5 months and they still haven't grown in. He is traumatized and will now not let any doctor or dentist touch him. Guess they needed to fill up charges to Medicaid before the end of the year.

Want to start by saying I really want to give 5 stars for the clinicians at this Roanoke pediatric dental clinic - they've been wonderful to my family. But giving 3 stars due to other issues with scheduling and forms they expect me to sign. I have a special needs kid referred here years ago by our pediatrician. Been wanting to review but concerned about anonymity affecting my child's care. A friend from our Autism group pointed out someone finally posted about braces consultations and other services here in Virginia.

I have been taking my daughter here for a couple of years now and have never experienced a issue. The staff is nice and makes us feel welcomed as well while also making sure to take care of and answer any questions that I may have.
