I don't think there's a better dental practice in Springfield. The staff is friendly and kind, and the office is beautiful. My visit with Dr. Joe Stevens was wonderful today. I have some real dental issues, but I left with a plan and hope. He made me feel like he truly cared. Came in at the end of the day and he was just as kind and professional. Thanks, Dr. Stevens. Maggiore is not a very nice person. He yells at his patients. Both my mom and my aunt were patients of his and he yelled at my mom and made her cry. He also yelled at my aunt on another occasion. He's lucky all I'm doing is writing this stupid little review.
I have been practicing dentistry for almost 30 years. Most of our new patients are referred by existing patients and other doctors. Our entire patient experience is about creating an environment that encourages patients to ask questions and voice their concerns. Mr. Olshefsky left our practice in 2010, his mother left the following year. I have had no contact with either patient in over 13 years. Considering the amount of time that has taken place, I am concerned that he may be confusing our practice with a more recent experience his mother had with her current dentist. I have attempted to contact both patients and would be happy to discuss any issues they had as patients. At the time of this post, I have had no response.
My whole family has been coming to Cedar Point Dental for years. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. Both dentists provide exceptional care. Highly recommend them if you're looking for a dentist in Springfield, IL. We've had cleanings, fillings, and even a crown done here.

I love everyone there—they're so kind and professional. They make you feel cared for. But one time I overheard the other dentist say something hurtful about me when he didn't know I could hear. This place runs like a well-oiled machine. Dr. Maggiore is thorough and considerate, takes his time, and doesn't overcharge. The hygienists do a great job with cleanings. I even drive from St. Louis to get my teeth taken care of here. Had a filling and a general checkup in Springfield, IL.

I've always had extreme anxiety about the dentist, but Dr. Stevens changed that completely. He and his staff listen to my concerns and make me feel comfortable. Dr. Maggiore is just as great. “Dr” Maggiore used to see my mother. She not very hip when it comes to the internet so I told her I’d write the review for her. Dr Maggiore was always rude and unfriendly to my mother (she’s the sweetest lady who’s overly nice to everyone). The last appointment my mother had with dentist he was doing something and some blood squirted from my moms mouth on to his shirt. He looks at my mom and yelled “thanks now I’m going to have to go home and change my shirt”. What a sickening thing to say to a patient. He made her feel so horrible and knowing her I’m sure she felt like she did something wrong. Why this “dr” didn’t have a protective bib on is beyond me. Highly recommend not seeing this particular dentist.
I have seen a significant number of patients during my 23 year career. However, I have never had an incident when blood squirted from a patient's mouth. There are surgical procedures that can cause a significant amount of bleeding. However, my practice is limited primarily to preventative and restorative dentistry; virtually all of my surgical treatment is referred to a specialist. Furthermore, all of our staff wears scrubs, primarily so we do not have to worry about what gets on them. I do not doubt that this individual had a traumatic experience, but I suspect her son has confused our practice with another in the area. I would be happy to attempt to clear up any confusion and address any of this individual's concerns.

Fantastic dentists who care about your dental health. I even had Dr. Maggiore meet me at this office on Easter Morning before church when I had a front crown fall off. He quickly patched me up so I could get through the day and came in the next day for a more permanent fix. Great people .

Dr. Maggiore and his staff are wonderful-- they address my fears, always answer my questions and make me feel comfortable. I especially appreciate that they offer hours into the evening so I never have to miss work. I recommend Cedar Point with no hesitation!
Dr. Maggiore and staff make coming to the dentist easy, and as someone who used to hate it, that's saying a lot! He's been helping me with my jaw issues through equilibrations and I've noticed a huge difference. No more stuck jaw in the morning or horrible pops when I chew. Very grateful to have these awesome people taking care of my teeth, and my families. We all go to Cedar Point and couldn't recommend it enough!
Cedar Point Dental is a great place to take care of your teeth. All of the dentists and dental hygienists are very nice and helpful. They don't chastise you for any problems you may have; they just help you make sure you don't have any. Most importantly, they don't tell you you need a procedure unless you really need it. They're interested in a long term relationship, rather than a quick buck.
My hygienist is gentle and thorough. She explains things well and is quite pleasant. The doctor provided a detailed care plan for my complicated situation with options for me to consider. He welcomed questions. I appreciate knowing costs upfront and the discount for paying cash.
My kids had a great dental checkup today! Dr Maggiore is fantastic with children. He and Dr. Stevens are also the best dentists I've ever had. I had TMJ pain and it has gotten so much better after Dr. Stevens made me a night guard! I get better rest all through the night when I wear it and my morning headaches are gone.
