These folks make going to the dentist an absolute pleasure. I don't think I have ever encountered a more competent staff. I've been coming here for a couple of years now for cleanings, fillings, scans, and more at their Tacoma office. Dr. Kim and the whole team—especially Maggie and Natalie—take time to listen to my concerns and explain all the options. They're pretty funny too, and I love how they have a real consent-oriented approach. Dr. Kim explains everything before and during procedures. Couldn't ask for better dental care in downtown Tacoma.

Dr. Charles Kim and his team did an outstanding job making sure I was comfortable and well taken care of. Never had much of an issue with the dentist, but I never looked forward to it. I had quite a bit of work done over the past couple of months—including some sedation dentistry—and it's been nothing short of great. Having moved recently I was in search of a new dentist and came across Dr. Kim. Could all the five stars be true? I had doubts. (I'm in my 60's and so have seen a lot of dentists in my lifetime. At best they have been okay, at worst terrifying.)
But it turns out the reviewers are right! Everything about Dr. Kim's office is unbelievably great. From the front desk people to the hygienists, to Dr. Kim himself—I have never met a friendlier, more patient, more competent group of people. I'm probably not the easiest person to work on because I'm anxious about it all but everyone there is so consistently kind.
Also, I had to get a new crown and it turns out Dr. Kim is not just an extremely capable professional, he's a meticulous perfectionist. He fine-tuned the crown into a perfect fit.

I was very anxious to visit the dentist because my teeth were in bad shape, but the doctor was kind and made me feel calm. The prices were fair, and the doctor worked carefully and tried to find affordable options instead of pushing expensive implants. The cleaning was also gentle and didn’t hurt, even though I have sensitive gums. All the staff at the clinic were very polite and friendly too. I’m really happy with this clinic and highly recommend it.
Best dentist and ortho ever!! Dr Charlie is very impressive. He is a perfectionist, which is what you want in a dentist! Always kind, cracking jokes, and in a good mood. The staff is also incredible, I really enjoy Maggie. Also, the office is immaculate! 10/10 recommend.
We had a Wonderful experience at Charles Kim Dentistry. The dental hygienist did a great job cleaning mine and my husband’s teeth as well as displayed exceptional knowledge and provided helpful tips and tricks. Dr. Charles was very kind and did a great job of creating a plan for us based on priorities for our teeth. Lastly and arguably the most important, everyone (from Dr. Charles to the front desk ladies) were straightforward with the information and pricing and never came off as pushy or like they were trying to sell me something. I waited until after my first check up and after my second visit when I got work done to write a review. I have had many poor experiences at dentists and after learning about Dr Kim on Reddit of all places, I decided to give his practice a shot. Boy, what a good dental experience. Friendly, nice staff. Clean, modern facility. But what really matters ultimately, is Dr Kim. He told me what he thought I should do and was cognizant of finances. When I returned to do the work, I was in and out in one session and was made to feel at ease when I was there. Would I recommend, YES! Thank you Dr Kim and team.
The prettiest dental office I've ever seen! The staff was lovely – very kind and considerate of my anxiety going in for a filling. Dr Charlie told me that red heads tend to burn through numbing medication faster and was very attentive, checking in regularly, administering more numbing/pain medication when needed. I appreciated the follow up text the next day to make sure everything was healing okay. I already have my next cleaning scheduled and will definitely be going to them for any future needs.
This dentist office is the best one I have ever been to! I have been coming here for almost a year now and they are very accomodating. Hanna at the front desk is the sweetest and very helpful. She definitely goes above and beyond helping me with my insurance. Kristina was awesome with my teeth cleaning and was very friendly and gentle. Dr. Charlie did an amazing job at taking me quickly into his schedule when my lingual bar snapped. The assistant Jasmine was very kind and helpful. Dr. Charlie is the nicest, most personal dentist and was very fast and thorough with removing the bar and giving me my options to replace it. Thank you and I will definitely keep coming here!
This was the best dentist visit I’ve ever had. Kristina was an amazing hygienist and what truly made her so great was her kindness. She was also very skilled, gentle, and informative and I will be requesting her on my next visit! Dr. Kim was wonderful and asked great questions including “what do you want/need from us at your new dental home?” It shows he truly cares about the patients needs and experience. Hannah was also wonderful at the reception and helping me get my insurance figured out.
