If I could give them a zero I would. The staff are friendly but that’s the only thing they have going for them. I went because they accept my insurance. I went in for a cavity and was told they would recommend a crown. I have never had a cavity before so I was shocked but being dumb I trusted them. The whole process was absolutely ridiculous. My temporary crown fell off countless times (yes i know this can happen) and I was told it is because I have “too much salvia”. When it came time for my permanent it fell off same day. The crown they put in was larger than all of my other teeth so my bite was off. After dealing with that hell I decided to go to Sycamore Hills Dentistry for an x-ray. I was told everything they did was wrong. Bordering malpractice. I am paying out of pocket at Sycamore Hills but it has been so worth it. I have never been happier. I will never return to Core Dental and am honestly shocked they are still an open business. Please do not waste your time and energy going to this dentist. It’s worth it to spend the money to get taken care of the correct way. In summary I ended up in worse shape going to them. (re: edit I found out I did have a few cavities before hand according to Sycamore Hills Dentistry, must of been done before I was a sentient being. Does not change the problem though.)
Samantha did a stellar job‼️I appreciated her attention to detail with hard to reach areas (wisdom teeth) and removing stains that no other hygienist could remove for years. I hope to keep her as my hygienist for years to come. 💜
What am incredible experience. The dentist and Staff members are so friendly. They make feel at home. My young son was trilled to come back for his appointment. He has had a hard time going anywhere else.
They are thorough, Gentle and very comprehensive with all they do. Scheduling appointments are easy, getting in and out is easy and the whole stuff just welcomes you. Best dental experience in the whole Fort Wayne.
I have always hated going to the dentist based of my horrible experiences from going to the dentist as a child. This office changed that experience for me. The hygienist was friendly and very gentle and thorough with my cleaning. I needed a filling which was nothing like I had remembered. I had no pain whatsoever and the Dr was so kind. I told her what my experience was as a child so thru out the procedure, she asked me how I was doing and made sure that I was comfortable every step of the way.
I will definitely recommend for all your dental needs
I scheduled an appointment with Core Dental for a routine cleaning because they were the only dentist I could find that accepted my insurance. Unfortunately I came to regret this decision. During my appointment I experienced unusually long wait times and poor communication even though I was the only person being seen at the time. After I finally had x-rays done I expected my cleaning, instead, someone came over and forcefully/painfully poked into my gums with no explanation even after they were finished. Again I waited, confused, until the dentist came over to chastise me for having irreversible bone loss and needing 5 fillings. That was a huge shock to me, I’ve never needed fillings or had any signs anything was wrong in my entire life. After my hour long appointment I had to ask to leave because no one even told me they were done with me. I was then told they could not perform a cleaning because they needed prior authorization - this was not communicated to me when I made my appointment. I left that day in tears and the whole appointment just didn’t sit right with me. I chose to seek out a second opinion from my previous dentist who I had seen my entire life until my insurance changed. After a thorough exam with him and new x-rays, the conclusion was made I did need 2 fillings (exasperated by pregnancy) but did not have bone loss. I also found out, through my insurance, that Core did /not/ put in prior authorization for a cleaning but rather a dental scaling. My insurance denied the request. During the 2 weeks between my original appointment with Core and my consult at my old dentist, Core called my repeatedly trying to schedule my fillings ASAP, I was not experiencing any discomfort that would suggest I urgently needed fillings so the calls came across as pushy.
Since Core accepted my insurance I went ahead and scheduled the fillings even though I was apprehensive due to my first appointment. However, the day before my scheduled appointment for fillings I was called personally by the dentist to tell me, in an incredibly rude and abrasive tone of voice, that my seeking out a second opinion was “insulting.” She accused me of not trusting her, questioning why I would even want a second opinion, going on a tirade repeatedly asking me /why/ the other dentist wasn’t performing the work (she even pushed back when I told her that a 3 hour appointment with an hour drive each way was too long for me to be away from my very young children) - it felt like she was trying to scold me and she only let up when I shared that my family could not afford to pay out of pocket without it being a huge financial burden. At that point I was even more nervous to have this dentist anywhere near my teeth. After a lot of urging from my husband and honestly, a lot of crying from me because I knew this was a financial burden we did not plan for or budget for, we opted to pay out of pocket with my previous dentist. To us, my overall health was not worth ignoring all the red flags I experienced from Core Dental and unfortunately the whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth. Perhaps the dentist was having a bad day but to me, it is not professional or trustworthy behavior to personally call and reprimand a patient simply for seeking a second opinion especially for something as sensitive as dental health.
Came for 1st appt for my adult special needs child and we had a great overall experience. The office is small, quaint, has comfortable leather chairs and plants in the waiting room with a wall-mounted TV. The staff (Kelly at the front desk, Sabie answers calls/schedules, Mrs T hygienist and Dr Agyman) were personable, understanding yet thorough and they accept HIP. Even though my child needs services from a specialist due to allergies they were hands-on with our insurance as well as documenting what my child can and can't have as far as sedation methods. Our appointment was at 1pm, got there at 12:30
and we were called in by Mrs T at that time.
I enjoyed it so much I'll be making an appt for myself soon. It's always something when going to places but I'm glad this place didn't show nothing but care and realness! Will definitely recommend. Thank yall for all yall's help, it's appreciated!
Just left my first appointment and it could not have gone better. The staff from the door to the doctor were so amazing and friendly. I have pretty severe dental anxiety and for the first time in over a decade I am actually excited to go back and continue my treatment plan. Ignore the one star reviews, because this place is great!
I am writing to share my recent experience with Core Dental, which has unfortunately led to significant dental issues.
I have always taken great pride in maintaining excellent dental health and have never experienced any major problems with my teeth. However, after a recent filling procedure at Core Dental, I now require a root canal due to complications arising from the treatment.
I have been a patient at Core Dental for over three years without any issues. However, after being advised to get a filling, I began experiencing severe pain three months post-procedure. Despite multiple visits to address the pain, including adjustments to my bite and a replacement of the cracked filling, the problem persisted. Ultimately, I sought a second opinion, and it was discovered that the initial filling had been placed too deeply, damaging the nerve and necessitating a root canal.
This situation has caused me considerable pain and distress, including missed work and excessive use of pain relief. It is particularly disappointing that an X-ray was not offered during my visits to Core Dental, which could have identified the issue earlier. Additionally, I was informed that the hygienist responsible for my filling no longer works at Core Dental, but no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused was provided.
I am sharing this feedback in the hope that it will lead to improvements in patient care and prevent similar experiences for others.
Attached is a picture of my teeth, which were adversely affected by the procedure.
An AMAZING dental office. They truly care about making things better for you. I will always recommend core dental to anyone who’s trying to find a great dentist office. They have never let me down not once. Always went above and beyond for me.
Dr. Agyeman goes above & beyond every single time for all of her patients. Not only does she work with such precision & expertise in dental work, but also creates a comfortable environment. It is obvious that she genuinely cares & was extremely transparent & communicative about everything throughout the process.
Core dental is one of the nicest spots to have your dental issues & needs taken care of , My teeth are everything to me & I also think if you want a Beautiful white smile like mine you should visit here !!!! It’s a warm fuzzy environment from the front desk to the Chair all the way up until you exit 💯 very professional & clean & organized dental office
Dr. Agyeman is fantastic! Not only is she kind and friendly, but she also offers flexible scheduling which made it so easy to get my son in for an appointment. We worked together to create a dental plan that perfectly fits his pediatric needs. I'm incredibly grateful to have found this practice - highly recommend!
No, never go! I should have listened to reviews, but couldn't find anywhere else that accepts our insurance at that time.
I got the vibe that the hygienists weren't licensed. Got the tool stuck in my permanent retainer, and a week later, ironically lost a filling that fell out?
Also recently found out that a root canal they had my daughter get done should have been a crown & not a filling as she just had to get that tooth pulled last month even after their "treatment".
Avoid at all cost. Harrison dental is right down the road not eve 3min. Use them!
Best Dentist I've ever had. I have moderate to severe dental anxiety and could not find a dentist that does conscious sedation and takes medicade. This wonderful woman listened to my concerns and did everything in her power to make me comfortable and as pain free as possible. I needed a large number of teeth removed and if I had to do it again, I'd only choose Core Dental. I have my smile back and Dr.Agyeman changed my life.
A++ service, rom the receptionist to the Dr was A++. Erika was sweet and no one was judgemental. They handled a child next to me so well I will be bringing my grandson for his first check up soon. Thank you Core Team!!!
Very friendly and attentive staff would recommend this place to anyone. The dentist and dentist techs are amazing as well as the front desk. I had horrible tooth pain this morning they actually was willing and able to squeeze me in and was happy to do so. I'm forever grateful
This place is great. Dr. Agyeman is awesome and her entire team does a great job with kids. They are caring, kind and good at their jobs. They have treated my entire family with respect and we are grateful to have found them.
I highly recommend CORE dental, particularly to those with younger children.
This dental office deserves a 5 star rating, without a doubt. Core Dental Care has a beautiful facility, and phenomenal staff. Dr. Agyeman, along with her staff, are very professional and knowledgeable and make you feel like family. Most importantly, you’ll receive QUALITY dentistry, and thorough cleanings with a gentle touch. Highly recommend.
Dr. Agyeman made me feel very welcome and not only were my immediate needs taken care of, but she also gave me a comprehensive care plan. I was able to be seen within 24 hours and her office was neat and clean. Her and her staff were very friendly and professional. I would recommend them to anyone!
I never got to have my initial appointment with Core Dental. I had the appointment scheduled well in advance and took a vacation day to attend. The day before they called to confirm the appointment. I was not able to answer, because I was working long hours to be able to come the next day, they canceled my appointment. When I arrived the next morning the doors were locked and the office was not open. Very unprofessional. It is clear they have little care for resolving customer issues as I left a voicemail that morning asking for a return call and they never reached out.
If this is their policy it should be made very clear when scheduling that I will HAVE to answer the phone the day before. (Maybe have a 2 day response time instead?)
Horribly dissapointed.
