I wish I would have read the reviews before. My daughter needed to have some cavities capped and we were referred. Our visit with her was less than 5 minutes long and basically told that we need to schedule her for a surgery with anesthesia in the hospital. We did, we paid over $2,000 upfront before the procedure and assumed they would be all that was owed. Fast forward 2 months and the $42,000 in bills started rolling in. Now, after receiving only 2 bills- the office is saying that they’re going to send us to collections and shed “hate that for us”- ha! Like they care. We didn’t even approve for her to pull teeth because that was not the plan before the procedure, but nothing we could do when she came in and told us that she did it. We learned a hard lesson and hope you don’t fall for it.

Honestly, I would not recommend Dr. Parks. When my son was six, he needed sedation dentistry for some dental work. She demanded over $3000 upfront before she'd do anything. It took me months to scrape that together. Then they made us come in for another $300 visit just to tell us the same thing and bumped up the price. I paid it all because my son needed the care. After the surgery, they billed me another almost $700 and claimed I owed that too. I refused. Six years later, a magistrate court sided with my now 12-year-old son after Dr. Parks filed a case. Just a heads up to anyone in Morgantown, WV considering pediatric care here.

We wanted the full cost upfront to decide, but things didn't add up later. Would not recommend this place if you have private insurance. Seems like they only take Medicaid patients, but they won't tell you that until a week before your child's procedure. I called multiple times over months asking about the balance and was told roughly $400 and that my insurance was in-network. Then, seven days before my son's surgery, they said they're not in-network and I owed $3,000 in three days. Dr. Parks herself is great, but the office staff really needs more training. If you're in Morgantown, WV, be careful with billing for pediatric care.

I thought they'd have to pull them, but I was hoping they wouldn't—what mom wants her little girl to lose teeth early? We got a surgery date in early September for March, and I was heartbroken. I almost took her to a dental school because I was scared it would get worse, but I'm SO GLAD we waited. My daughter is not an easy kid, but Dr. Parks and her team handled her perfectly.
