Had a really great experience at this Manhattan dental clinic. The office was spotless and well-organized, and everyone from the front desk to the dentist was friendly and professional. What stood out was how the dentist took time to explain everything clearly - no rushing through things. Scheduling was easy, wait time was minimal, and I felt genuinely cared for during my preventive dentistry visit. Would definitely recommend them to anyone in NYC.

Dr. Ditta is wonderful! She actually listens to her patients and takes time to explain issue areas and ways to solve them. The office front staff are super helpful and friendly too. Honestly, Nina's been our family dentist for years now - she's hands down the best dentist in Manhattan! Our whole crew goes there for regular checkups and cleanings. Dr. Chang is super attentive and friendly - my daughter actually looks forward to her appointments, which says a lot about a pediatric dentistry practice in New York. Caveat emptor! My experience with this practice can be summed up in three lines:
1. Bait and switch unethical billing practices that are borderline fraudulent
2. Shoddy dental work by inexperienced dentists with poor clinical skills
3. Persistent upselling and unnecessary procedures to raise costs
This practice lists themselves as in-network for your insurance on ZocDoc, but will then charge you out-of-network fees at exorbitant prices not on the insurance fee schedule. I've contacted ZocDoc about this and their Trust & Safety team is currently investigating this.
Rather than submitting the treatment plan and waiting to see what the insurance company will reimburse, they will conduct the unnecessary treatment (e.g., deep cleanings) and leave you with a hefty bill. They have you pay up front out-of-network fees that they set for unnecessary dental work that get denied by your insurance and thus, you will be denied reimbursement for the out-of-pocket expenses. They will try to hit your out-of-pocket maximum with the procedures they recommend and when you have a dental emergency (e.g., a botched treatment by their dentists), you will have to pay everything out-of-pocket.
Dr. Ditta botched a filling, drilling below the depth that she should have and exposed my nerve which led to an infection of the tooth's root, significant pain, and an emergency root canal. Dr. Ditta never offered so much as a mea culpa or offered any reasoning as to why she would drill below the depth indicated by the imaging and X-rays they had done. As they had maxed out my out-of-pocket expenses for the year with a bunch of unnecessary work, I had to pay out-of-pocket for the root canal and the crown. All of which was due to their fault.
To add insult to injury my new dentist reviewed the deep cleanings where they claimed to do 4 surfaces per tooth and took new X-rays which indicated that at most 3 surfaces and likely only two were done. It is possible that they will charge you out of pocket for work they claim to do, but you cannot verify unless you have another dentist review their work.
Lastly, they will upsell you on invisalign and show you AI doctored photos of your teeth drastically shifting, and from what other reviewers are stating they also upsell on other completely medically unnecessary operations. Sitting in their office waiting for my appointment I hear of patients on the phone discussing payment plans for bills in excess of 10k. Your best bet is to stay away from this practice.
Been a patient at this Manhattan dental clinic for a few years now. Came in with serious dental anxiety and they've been nothing short of amazing. Every person on the team walks me through not only what's going to be done but how to prevent issues moving forward. They're extremely helpful with financial situations too - truly the best group! No more dental anxiety thanks to their sedation dentistry approach in New York, and can't thank them enough for my improved dental health.

This is a review that's at least 10 years overdue, but at least it is based on long term experience with the practice. I first came across Dental Serenity at the recommendation of a friend who saw me struggle with tooth pain that would not go away despite multiple visits to my previous dentist. Dr. Chang figured out the issue in a few minutes and then fixed the issue once and for all. Since then Dr. Chang has done my braces and several cavities and put me on a good path for dental care. For the twice a year teeth cleaning, Taylor is outright amazing. Both Dr. Chang and Taylor have an incredible awareness of the patient and do their work effectively with almost a feather weight touch.
The office itself is modern, comfortable and the front office staff are great too. The only downside is that the practice is not in-network with any insurance I don't think. This is still not a deal breaker for me and I now travel 6 hours to come here because they really are that good.

Beware of this dentist!!!
She is super nice but would recommend unnecessary procedrues and use scare tactics to make my boyfriend get more procedures done when his teeth were perfectly fine in 2019. Since I was in medical field and can read dental x rays, I requested her to show me the x rays when my boyfriend was there with me. We both could not believe what she said. She asked us to leave without showing x rays. She told him his gum was recessed and will lose his teeth soon. Now he is in another state and his other dentist gave him clean bill of health for his teeth after six years. His gum is totally fine. He has no cavities. Totally get another opinion.
She put numbing gel on my then boyfriend and said it protected cavities. It was expensive and out of pocket. He had to pay huge amount out of pocket. Furthermore, she said he has two cavities and filled his teeth when he had no cavities in his life before then. He also had no cavities when being seen by other dentists after her and since. Many of his colleagues got many procedures with her and told him that they felt weird that there are many procedures. This dentist needs to be investigated .

Don't usually write reviews, but Dr. Nina is hands down the best endodontist in Manhattan. Many of my teeth typically become candidates for root canals, but Dr. Nina managed to save all of them - even the hardest one that was less than 0.5mm from the nerve. Can't thank her enough. Clear she prioritizes saving teeth over making money from root canals. Front desk staff, hygienists, and assistants are all incredibly kind and helpful. Don't think I can go anywhere else for endodontics in New York.
