This was my second cleaning here, and I like how they do the cleaning itself. But I'm starting to feel like they're getting a bit greedy. Every other dentist I've been to gives you a little bag with travel toothpaste, floss, and a new brush. I haven't gotten anything here. Maybe they wait until you ask, but I don't want to beg. Those bags cost them nothing since companies promote through offices. Just give them out without patients having to ask.

I needed a crown replacement, and the first temporary crown fell off quickly. Keny was able to fit me in the next day and made a new one that was comfortable and secure. I appreciated that. But now the permanent crown came off after three months, and part of my tooth came with it. So now I'm missing a tooth. This has been really frustrating and upsetting. I'm disappointed with how it turned out.

The procedure was way less uncomfortable than I expected, and I had zero pain afterward. Plus, they were super flexible with my schedule—I had to change my appointment a few times because of work, and they didn't charge me any late fees. Their evening and Saturday hours are a lifesaver. The staff is nice and the office is clean, and I love that they're open late and on weekends. But I feel like they're trying to push unnecessary procedures. Dr. Song told me a sealant on one tooth was failing and recommended fixing it, but I've never had any work done on that tooth before. When I mentioned that, he just brushed me off and said I 'definitely had.' That doesn't sit right with me. A friend who goes there has similar concerns. Just be cautious.

I’ve been a patient at Down to Earth Dental since around 2018 or 2019. In the early years, I received great care and built good relationships with several dentists, hygienists, and staff members. Unfortunately, many of those familiar faces have since left, and my experiences in recent years have not reflected the same level of consistency or care.
I recently needed to replace a crown that was originally placed at this office after developing sensitivity from what was described as a cracked tooth. Since then, I’ve had ongoing complications. The original crown came off during a procedure, was re-cemented multiple times, and later required full replacement after a cavity developed beneath it. Although I was initially told the new crown would be covered under warranty, I was later informed it wasn’t—leaving me to handle the insurance claim and out-of-pocket costs myself.
Unfortunately, the replacement crown has been uncomfortable and unstable despite attempts to correct it. The pain and sensitivity have made it difficult to eat normally, and I’ve felt that my concerns haven’t always been treated with the urgency or empathy I’d hoped for. When I requested an emergency appointment, I was initially told the earliest available date was several days away, though I was eventually accommodated sooner after speaking with another staff member.
I’ve also been advised that I might now need a root canal on the same tooth, which has made me question whether the original treatment plan was the best course of action. While I’ve had some positive experiences here in the past, recent care has left me feeling disappointed and uncertain about continuing as a patient.
I do think Down to Earth Dental may provide good routine cleanings and X-rays. However, if you’re considering more complex dental work, I strongly recommend asking detailed questions, understanding your options, and—if anything feels off—seeking a second opinion before proceeding. Your comfort, trust, and peace of mind should always come first.

Never liked going to the dentist because of previous unpleasant experiences. Moved to Washington from Hawaii 3 years ago and haven’t been to the dentist since. Walked by Down to Earth one day and I decided to walk in and asked if they take new patients.
I am extremely grateful to the whole staff. Thank you to Dana at the front desk for constant communication and always making sure I knew what’s going on. Working with me to set up my future appointments and breaking everything down for me to understand.
Dr. James was awesome and explained everything I need to get done in the next couple years to get me back on track. Edlene was my dental hygienist, and she’s very passionate about what she does. She made the whole deep cleaning experience tolerable for me and educated me a lot on how I can better take care of my oral health. I’m glad that I found a great place with great people that I can keep coming to.
They don't do root canals or wisdom teeth extraction. If you need anything like that, go elsewhere because you will waste your time. Plus, they will take xrays until they find something to charge you extra for. Melissa, the hygienist was amazing and she is the best part of your horrible place. I also noticed that they only respond to good reviews. If you have anything negative to say, you are on your own. Dentists are so competitive these days. There are better ones out there who don't abide by predatory practices. I thought I'd give them a try since my son had a good experience, but no thank you. When I had follow up questions for Dr. Xie, she magically disappeared into the abyss and was never seen again. What a terrible way of running a business. No wonder people have such anxiety over visiting the dentist.
