My son is on the spectrum and our dental insurance really sucks. Unfortunately they don't take our insurance here, so I paid out of pocket—totally worth it. Dr. Mattia is truly gifted with special needs dentistry. My almost nonverbal autistic son actually listened to her. She was so patient. Yes, we used laughing gas to calm him, but she and her team were amazing. From the first call to schedule, the receptionists were friendly and welcoming. This will be our go-to dentist in Old Tappan until he ages out.

Amazing experience; I'd give six stars if I could. Over the weekend, I got hit in the face with a golf ball breaking three front teeth. Went to Hackensack Emergency Center first—shuffled around, doctor said I needed the most expensive care without even checking my pain. Got a second opinion with Dr. Mattia in Old Tappan. She took time to understand my case, pointed me in the right direction, and helped secure an appointment for a root canal. Her emergency dental service is top-notch.

My 2 year old son recently had his first appointment with Dr. Mattia and it was wonderful! The office is inviting & kid focused. The staff are very friendly, kind, & patient! Dr. Mattia is amazing! She took the time to go over everything with me and gave me great recommendations! Most importantly my son was comfortable, happy, and asked to go back when we got in the car to go home!

Dr. Mattia is the most amazing pediatric dentist out there. Her professional and friendly approach melt together to suit your child’s needs. Dr. Mattia and all staff are always fantastic! All dental hygienists have been amazing and patient with my boys. (7 & 3 years old) Dr. Mattia and Dr. Kaplan are truly great at what they do. They are thorough when explaining a procedure or addressing any concerns / questions. It is very apparent that all staff enjoy what they do and care deeply!

We have been going to Dr. Mattia since his first dental appt. He was very fussy in the beginning but the entire staff was very patient. My son had his first cavity treatment and he did really great - Dr. Mattia and Ms. Judy really made it as seamless and painless as it could be. Highly recommend!

Dr. Mattia is amazing! My son had trauma to his teeth when he was six and she went above and beyond. She is extremely patient and kind. She knows him so well and every time we go to the office she makes him feel so comfortable! The staff is equally amazing! We love Dr. Mattia!

Both of our boys feel very comfortable with everyone in the office. Coming to the dentist can be overwhelming, but Dr Mattia and her staff help make the kids feel comfortable. They also do a good job of letting the kids know to improve brushing and flossing without making them feel guilty. We’ve had nothing but positive experiences here and would recommend them to our friends.
