I believe Dr Vanek recommends unnecessary or very aggressive procedures. It would be worth your time to get a second opinion. I formed this opinion after receiving a 2nd, 3rd and 4th assessment from other dentists. My initial visit felt weird like I was being sold a timeshare so I got a 2nd opinion. Later I saw 2x other dentists for unrelated reasons and also asked their opinion. All 3x of the other dentists disagreed with Dr Vanek's very aggressive treatment plan and either recommended no filling or just a minor surface filling. Additionally they disagreed with many of the 'watch' items and 'future work' on his list. Best case read of this is Dr Vanek likes to treat aggressively. Worst case he is padding his wallet. Either way, I prefer a dentist who preserves teeth and treats conservatively so not for me.

Honestly, I would say the opposite is true. We have modern methods that allow us to detect and prevent disease early. I won't be surprised that eventually you will discover that we are giving you good advice the hard way. How can you fault a doctor for preventing rampant caries and giving advice to do so? This review obviously doesn't make sense. I hope you find someone you can trust that can provide conservative treatment options witbout ignoring active caries. Sincerely Dr-V
