Horrible experience. Doc was talking to my wife and I with a disrespectful tone. He also told us information that he claims he has told us during my previous appointment which was inaccurate. My wife and I both was there and that is what I stated to him, but he basically called my wife and I liars. He also talked to me like I was remedial and like I couldn't comprehend the difference between pressure and pain, that's when my wife stepped in and explained to him that she knows the difference she's just asking you to stop it she says stop because she's feeling pain. The doc was so rude. I would neverrrrr go back nor refer/recommend anyone else to. The familia dental on coldwater rd. THE ABSOLUTE WORSE DENTAL TREATMENT I'VE EVER RECEIVED!!!! I will be talking to corporate about this issue because I most definitely DID NOT RECEIVE THE TREATMENT I SHOULD'VE GOTTEN. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! RUDE!!! TO BE CONTINUED..... ZERO STARS... to add to this, he was very rough and I felt like he did a rushed job as well. This visit was rough physically and mentally. Thanks to the doc (I didn't get his name) at the coldwater road location.
I was not satisfied with the teeth cleaning at all, the room I was put in for tooth examined and teeth cleaning was so diety and filthy. The washing hand basin was so dirty that I couldn't touched is to rinse my mouth with the water. In short I didn't expect so much dirty in a dental room.
The doctor and medical assistant was helpful and supported. However the cleaningness of the dental office could be better. Thank you
The team at Familia Dental was fantastic! The service was completed in a timely manner. In my opinion the dentist went above and beyond to make my child feel comfortable during his appointment. I am 100% sure we will continue to visit this location for all of our oral care. Thank you Familia Dental Family!
Love that the dentist made sure I was ok through the whole process. I had several teeth extracted in order to get dentures and she made sure I was well numbed and after each tooth was extracted she asked me if I was OK. I found that comforting.
When I called I asked if they provided same day service. When we got there, it changed. The first doctor tried to over talk me after I'd already made the decision. She was trying to convince me that my son's tooth could be saved and get a root canal while telling me how bad and infected it was. Then she said they couldnt do there, today, and we cpuld come back in about 3 or so days to do the root canal. I said no ma'am, we're pulling. He's 17, if its that bad, he'll be back in a year or less and we're not doing that. I explained to her that the only reason we came is bc we were told we could get same day service. I just had to surgeries on my spine and shouldn't be outside but my child is in pain and that is important and I wouldn't have risked myself if he couldn't be helped. She got upset and walked away and started talking to another doctor, telling him about us, came back and said, "he's going to help you" and just kept walking. The assistant apologies for her and waits with me. They scheduled us to come back within an hour and everyone is more polite but just... blah. The new doctor, Dr. K explained that the root canal was going to cost $1200 per cap and it had to be done out of town. He said that the tooth was pretty bad and he agreed to just pull it.
Now, the environment is dull, the outside is gross, trashy, baby bottles, the clips they use to cover you with, plates, cups, plastic, etc. Its got a weird smell, like a beauty salon, but not a favorable one. There seems to be no dress code for the employees not doing dental work and one of the business office people had on a dress that looks like its more for after work drinks than a 9-5 job that services CHILDREN. Thigh high boots?! Like really?! Everyone should be in scrubs, in my opinion. It just looks more professional. I think professional environments should have staff dressed appropriately. Decency and order. She looked very nice but not for the work place. The front desk workers are nice but the environment was just very blah. Like no one was happy. Just there to be there. Maybe because its Wednesday?! Idk, either way... it was a 50/50 experience.
I gave it to Stars surely for the doctor he seems very nice and very knowledgeable and he did a good job. Everything else was way below par, the place seemed dirty completely unorganized there was no communication whatsoever the first appointment they told us we had to make payment for a consultation or root canal when we got to that appointment then nothing about that consultation and just said he had seven cavities to fill. Okay possibly a mix up on my end so they said they'll take care of two of them today which they did and then they said,, okay you're all done you can go no paperwork no nothing no scheduling more appointments for the next session to fill other cavities that they told me he had nothing. We will not be going back there again

We had a dental bridge done in May of 2025 that broke (less than 7 months) in December of 2026. Went in to get the bridge reimplemented and got charged $80 to see the dentist for 2 minutes only to be told that the bridge can not be implemented.
We've spent over 2 hours (7 calls in total) speaking with the office and billing trying to explain the situation. We asked to speak with the office manager multiple times, but never heard back.
Nearly a month after our initial communication, we found out that the dentist issued a refund for the $80. We never heard any confirmation from the Familial Dental team of the refund until we reached out to their billing personally.
The only reason why this is not a 1 star review is because the dentist issued us a refund. This has been an absolutely horrendous experience.
Been there twice for consultation only for the dentist and staff to realize they don’t accept the insurance I have for the work I need to have done. If it is a consultation then this should have been know prior to the appointment. But you will still get paid for my seat in your chair… not happy with this dentist office and will not be back.
It was amazing! I love how gentle and caring the doctor and the assistant was. It doesn’t happen often to have genuine care for patients. I felt that here! Thank you : )
Excellent service had a broken tooth that broke in 3 pieces. They did X-ray and 10 minutes later came back numbed my gums 3 shots to mouth barely felt it. Once numbing was done assistant helped keep saliva under control and Doc got those 3 pieces out less than another 10! 30 mins max was my procedure and barely any pain after.
Today I was shown great service by Nancy at the Coldwater road office in fort Wayne Indiana. They weren't able to help me with my teeth but she totally redeemed This dentist office by her customer service by making sure that my x-rays got to Harrison group dentistry that are able to help me with my teeth. Went to this place for a cleaning and to look at wisdom teeth, they were quick and gentle cleaning my teeth and understanding my needs. I'm coming back to remove my wisdom, hopefully.
Update: I got them removed and it didn't hurt when they pulled them out!
Fast, easy, quick service! With a dental emergency, I was able to be seen the same day! Extraction took maybe 6 mins! Doctor was patient and worked fast and efficiently! The dentist is my worse nightmare! Thank you for making it a pleasant experience!
Very disappoined with my last visit. Went in for a filling and the Dr seemed like he was in a hurry. He was rough and my mouth wasn't fully numb before he started so I felt the whole process. My tooth had no pain prior to him "filling" it, but since my visit I can't even chew on that side. My visits used to be great when the lady Dr worked there but not anymore.
The staff was nice and explained what my daughter needed. They told me the price and said they would submit a prior authorization to her insurance and get back to me within a week. It’s been 2 months and I haven’t heard back. I’ve called multiple times and left messages and no one has called me back.
Seems like nice staff and knowledgeable Dentists however, the place is very unsanitary. Dirt and dust everywhere, sinks are very caked with dirt and dust the chairs the floors are peeling up and look gross
I took my son here for the first time and the staff was amazing. We had dr Chatla and Savannah with another girl she was sweet I just forgot her name.
The tech the helped me was very nice, I feel like she answered my question much more nicer than the doctor did. When the doctor came, she did let me know that my teeth shifted. Which I already knew , I wanted to know what would be the best steps to take now, get treatment or what. The doctor just proceeded to type away, and it was silent. I asked her questions about if I were to get a new retainer will it help straighten my teeth, she said no (which is fine), but it’s like you were gonna say anything? She just kept saying get the retainer. Also, every time I call up to this location to get the price of the retainer, it’s always a different price. One point it’s $700, then $500, then $600, either way it’s so expensive that I can’t just drop that much like it’s nothing. But either way I think I may just find another orthodontist that cares a bit more.
