I brought my grandma here to make her a new denture, Dr. Zhou is very skilled and thoughtful and takes extra time to work on my grandma denture and explain any concern to us to make sure my grandma is happy about it.

This year (2026), we went to First Smile Family Dental in Federal Way. It's our new family dentist. The service is very thorough and caring—they treat you like family. My husband had a root canal done by Dr. Nguyen and her team did an excellent job. They took time to answer all questions and even called to follow up during the weekend! I've never seen that before. I had deep cleaning myself, and the hygienist was great. Highly recommend for root canals and cleanings.

I absolutely highly recommend this clinic. I had to get a full set of dentures with bottom having implants. Dr. Nguyen showed me that I'm a person, not a chart. The staff are all sweet. Once again, I highly recommend it here for dentures and implants in Federal Way.

The office is super clean and has a welcoming vibe. Love that they have TVs to watch during appointments—it makes everything more relaxed. My one and only dental spot. The crew here makes you feel so welcome and loved! From the front desk to the assistants and dentists, everyone is amazing. Dr. Nguyen makes sure all patients are well attended. Griselda took care of my x-rays and flossing efficiently while keeping me comfortable. Another lady did my cleaning and did an amazing job talking me through it. Reminded me the dentist doesn't have to be scary. I’ve put off coming to the dentist for a long time due to anxiety and trauma from the last dentist I saw. So only a dental emergency brought me searching for care. From the phone call to the end of my appointment, the entire team/staff made this such a nice experience. The front desk staff are so caring. I didn’t get the name of the person who made my appointment over the phone but I’m so glad she listened to me and got me in same day! Angel was so gentle and caring, Dr. Nguyen was so kind and patient, took the time to listen to my problem and comforted me. Finally, one of the biggest worries about visiting a dentist is the expense. Charles made everything understandable and helped assure that I would be able to afford the care. The level of care that everyone gave me was top tier and eased a lot of my anxieties and worries. I left there feeling good about my visit and recommended them to the rest of my family. I am very impressed and I will be coming here from here on!

Honestly, First Smile Family Dental is amazing. From the moment I walked in, I felt the genuine care and warmth. Dr. Nguyen was fantastic—she took the time to explain every detail about my upcoming dental implant procedure, making sure I understood everything and felt at ease. It's rare to find a doctor so thorough and patient. The whole team makes the atmosphere lively and caring. Topenga at the front desk greeted me with a lovely smile and made check-in a breeze. I came in to shadow at this dental office as a prospective dental assistant and unfortunately did not have a positive experience. As someone new to the clinical setting, I was not given expectations ahead of time regarding attire or shadowing protocol, and I was corrected in a very sharp tone about my clothes by Vien Nguyen when I arrived and then shortly after she told me “ I couldn’t be standing around,” but I was not given guidance on where to stand or how to participate as a first-time observer.
At the end of the day, the manager asked me to wait to speak with Vien Nguyen for feedback but after waiting I was then told she “got pulled into something” and would follow up with me later. I then saw her heading out to lunch and I never received any follow up communication. The overall experience felt dismissive and unwelcoming for someone who came eager to learn about the role.
I hope future shadowing candidates are given clearer instructions and more supportive communication. I’m not interested in learning from a doctor with very hostile communication on day one because if that’s how someone acts the first day they meet you, I imagine it gets worse.
Hi Aly, thanks for taking your time to write this review. One of our missions is to take care of our community not only by providing great dental care but also supporting the community. Therefore, we always welcome anyone that would like to learn dentistry either by shadowing or getting training at our office. When we allow someone to shadow, we need to make sure that certain protocols need to be followed. Since having such a busy schedule and needing to leave the office during lunch to take care of some family matter, I did not have much interaction or time to talk with you if at all. While I regret that you did not have good experience with our office, I hope that you are able to find a better place to shadow.

New to the place but they are nice people from the front desk to the room 💯🤏 I got insurance but didn’t cover my full treatment luckily Carls explain some of the options they have that helps cover my treatment right now. Highly recommended cause some places they will hunt you to pay them full before treatment but First Smile family really does make you feel like family. Thank you!
Dr. Jo was amazing!!! I had a tooth that needed to come out. Did it for a reasonable price! The staff was amazing from Charles checking in on me as I made my way there. Tobinga being so kind and helpful to the dental assistants. Top notch place! Everyone seems to be enjoying what they do! They gained a client for life!
