We've been coming to Gentle Dental for years now. Dr. Binstock is such a great dentist—really knows her stuff. Today I had a cleaning with Karen, and wow, she's an amazing hygienist. Super patient and dedicated. The whole staff, from the front desk to the dental assistants, are all so sweet. Highly recommend this place in Venice, FL for general dentistry and hygiene care!

Had a back tooth break off, leaving a big hole—chewing was tough. I'm a snowbird, but they got me in right away and put in a temporary crown the same day. Permanent crown the next week. Very gentle and professional. If I'm in Florida again and need dental work, I'll definitely come back.

Had a broken tooth where the old silver filling was most of it. Honestly, no pain at all! Called in the morning and got an appointment that same afternoon—super quick. Every technician was fabulous: Jessica, Emily, and Terri were amazing. Dr. Katherine was incredible too. When she had to give me a shot in the top of my mouth, I was like heck no—I've had bad experiences. But she used a vibrating tool and I didn't feel a thing. A miracle! Will definitely keep coming back for general dentistry and emergency care in Venice.

Terrible place! I wish I had read the reviews. They do not have industry standard equipment. No digital records so now going to a new dentist I will have to have them redone which might not be covered by my insurance. They do not inform you of the process of getting a crown and belittle you when asking simple questions. The crown they put on traps an insane amount of food. She upcharged me for my crown for a metal bite since there was “no room for porcelain” but now my teeth don’t even touch, there’s a huge gap and the tooth she filled down has a sharp edge. Felt like I was being treated like cattle.
I actually looked this up because I couldn't remember the name, but I stayed to write this because some negative reviews are just lies. I've been coming here a couple of years, starting with a broken tooth. They referred me for a root canal, and the crown was impeccably done. Staff is 100% nice and friendly, and they know what they're doing. I've recommended this office and will keep coming for regular general dentistry and cosmetic work in Venice.

Their service has definitely changed for the worse this year. Communication is terrible. I went in for a routine cleaning and X-rays, which are totally covered by my insurance. After examination by the dentist they had me sit in another chair, where a woman waved a hand instrument over my teeth for about 3 minutes. No communication as to what was happening. When I checked out, the receptionist said I owed $104 for todays visit. I asked for what? She said for Therapeutic Cleaning.
Which was not covered by insurance. A total rip-off. Never mentioned beforehand that insurance doesn’t cover it. Also they made an appointment for me with their Oral Surgeon without my knowledge. I cancelled it and walked out. I’ll never go there again.
I used to be terrified of the dentist and could never stick to one place until Gentle Dental in Venice. They're so nice—always remember who we are, flexible with appointments, and the dentist is amazing. She makes sure you feel nothing and explains everything. My son even does his orthodontics there—we love them that much!

I am glad I read the reviews before my appointment. The hygienist and receptionist were great, but the dentist tried to sell me two crowns without being able to show me a cavity on the X-ray or in my mouth. I have no pain or sensitivity. If I had not read the other negative reviews about this place, I may have taken it seriously. I will be getting a second opinion.
If I could rate a zero I would. Go to a different dentist!! Temporary crown lasted 6 hours when they said it would last 2 weeks…. Very disorganized and extreme lack of internal communication. After their staff already having issues pulling up our insurance in the year 2022, I specifically called and spoke with Patty as our insurance had changed with the new year 2023 and I wanted to make sure everything was up to date in their system as my spouse was currently in the process or getting a crown, hence the reference to a temp one above… I provided updated insurance information as i am the primary listed on the insurance and I did not want him getting push back at his visit for the permanent crown… I was told it was updated in the system …. Guess not because as soon as my spouse shows up for his final procedure they can’t find the new insurance information …. I hope my insurance did not get listed under another patients profile… VERY CONCERNING… just take my advise and go somewhere else and save yourself the frustration!!!!
Worse place ever been to! NO digital equipment, Xrays have to be developed and considerably more radiation. Equipment and office looks like it is from the 1970's. They cleaned my teeth, then I had an exam and the dentist asked when was I going to have my teeth cleaned, I said it was just done!! Then they wanted to charge me for another cleaning. High turnover in staff, I felt like profit over patient! I don't trust them, will never go there again, plus they charged you for you records to take to a new dentist, that you paid for and they don't need.
The gals at the front desk were great. That’s where the experience ends here!! Run, don’t walk away from this place!! I was last seen 6 months ago at my Ohio Dentist, where he told me I take very good care of my teeth and I had no cavities and no care needed going forward.Now I see this Dentist, Dr Purev, and I suddenly have multiple finds of decay and need $3500.worth of work!! The back of the house was less than friendly when trying to engage them, including the hygienist who did not introduce herself. I was told my teeth Reallly needed a good cleaning , although I manually floss, as well as using a water pic flosser. This place operates like a mill that pushes patients through and all they care about is $$$. I will be filing a formal
complaint. Do yourself a favor and find a good dentist office that offers patient care and shows concern.

Gentle Dental is exactly what their name says. The staff and dentist are 100% caring. Performing their duties rapidly and with respect. The first thing they were concerned with was the pain level I was in and how they were going to make it better. I won’t ever consider missing another appointment.

I have been going here for 9 years . I have referred two people and they cant thank me enough. The office is the best it has ever been with the addition of Dr Burne. Darlene the manager is very efficient and organized.Mira the hygentist does the best cleaning we have ever had done and she moves around the mouth like a pro.Anise and the front office are on top of their game making sure that you know when your next appointment is. I was very impressed with the recent experience I had with the Sarasota office also. Being a former throat cancer patient I had a problem with a tooth that potentially needed extraction. Dr Burne was on vacation so the venice office immediately got me into the Sarasota office . The office manager(forgot her name) reached out to sloane kettering to speak directly the the dentist there that treated me for the oral part of my problem. There are complications after 7 weeks of radiation and it was very comforting to know they were covering all bases. End result is that after a complete evaluation no extraction was needed at this time and I am a very satistfied customer. A second opinion was obtained and a similar plan was proposed but at nearl y a third more of a cost. My wife now is also a satisfied patient of the group!! Let Gentle dental(either office) attend to your dental needs and spend your savings on the Grand Kids!!
I wish I'd seen Dr. Byrne four years ago when my problem started. No insurance, so I was worried about getting ripped off. He did an immaculate job matching the color and shape of my tooth, and charged a very fair price. Him, his assistant Jeanette, and Courtney at the front desk made it comfortable and professional. So many places just want your money—I'm so happy I found my dentist here in Venice for cosmetic dentistry!

DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST! I did have a great cleaning, but the dentist's bed side manner was deplorable. She had on heavy perfume and when you're that close for that long, I was getting sick. I noticed the tools on the tray were rusty and one had a crack. I was told by this dentist that I had two cavities, poor bleeding gums, a tooth that needed to be pulled, and a crown was needed.
I chose to seek a second opinion and asked Gentle Dental to mail over my records costing me $45.00. The second dentist never received those records. The second dentist re-did all my x-rays and found NOTHING wrong! No cavities, no bleeding gums, the crooked tooth doesn't need to be pulled, and the crown is not needed for a long time. When I called Gental Dentle to ask for a refund for not sending the records, (they literally needed to go from Venice Ave. to Seminole Rd. in Venice) a lady named Courtney very rudely said "yeah, that's not gonna happen." Who talks to people like that?
