Had a cleaning and a filling put in at Gorrell Smiles in Mountain View. The dentist and hygienist were both friendly and explained everything they were doing and why. Overall, a very good experience—no complaints. If you need general dentistry or restorative dentistry in the area, definitely check them out.

I've used Gorrell Smiles from its inception. Dr. Gorrell is pretty much retired now, but the rest of the staff is very competent and pleasant to work with. Dr. Ryan Mui D. D. S. is taking over the business from Dr. Gorrell. I find Dr. Mui to be very competent also and will continue to do business with Gorrell Smiles under his Dr. Mui's ownership. I would expect a name change in the future. I highly recommend their services.

Not happy at all. The receptionist refused to take me in because I was a little over 15 minutes late—I missed my exit. I would expect a little more consideration. Very disappointed. This is not the right way to acquire a long-term patient. My previous dentist of 25 years retired, so I moved to this practice, but I'll be reconsidering.

Long time patient at this office. Came in for a tooth filling appointment with Dr. Lew. First time with Dr.Lew who came with great recommendation. And he didn’t disappointment. Very skillful which is most important. Plus caring in how I felt, explaining each step as he worked, totally reassuring. I had a great experience. The employees were very easy-going. The teeth cleaning were thorough and smooth.
I had my wisdom tooth extracted here. It's smooth and I did not feel any pain at all. The recovery was fast, and I did not need to take any pain killer afterward.

After moving cross country, I researched a ton looking for a reputable dentist that would accept new patients. I was thrilled to see this office had great reviews. To my disappointment, my experience couldn’t have been further from those I read about online.
I’ve never had anxiety around seeing the dentist, but after the hygienist spent 1.5 hours stabbing my gums and teeth, I understand why some people do! Dr. Huang then proceeded to tell me several of my teeth would need work or procedures, along with some other issues. I was hesitant that I would have so many concerns come up since I had just seen my previous dentist less than 6 months prior.
After the traumatic first visit, I followed up via email asking more questions about which teeth exactly she was worried about (knowing I wanted a second opinion from my dentist at home that I trusted — and thank goodness I did). I was only then informed that Dr. Huang had left the practice (so much for a courtesy email!) and that one of the teeth she had noted was one of my wisdom teeth… I don’t even have my wisdom teeth anymore! That was the final straw and I asked to have all future appointments cancelled.
I’ve never felt so taken advantage of as a new patient. If you are looking for a dentist, I do not at all recommend this practice. They’ve proved unprofessional, untrustworthy, and disappointing. I hope for future patients’ sake, their reviews can begin to reflect that.

Can't speak highly enough of this group! The whole process was so smooth; I'd gone a few years without seeing a dentist, had 2 kids, etc and felt my teeth had deteriorated. Got back on a cleaning schedule and was recommended to have a couple of fillings done. Dr. Lew was so friendly and personable, answered all my questions, explained everything he was doing, and took the extra time to make sure everything was perfect (and finished 10 min early!). He really embodies the mantra of treating patients like family. A+ highly recommend! Am a physician myself btw and was so impressed! Thanks Gorrell Smiles team!

It’s possible to have a favorite dentist. My family (and referred friends) have been coming here for 7 years. The staff is always great and a joy to interact with. I come 4+ times a year for cleaning and yet to have a bad experience. Highly recommend.

Very professional, mid-size office with experienced staff. Been happy with cleanings and dental work. They take my insurance and have explainable billing. They give appropriate treatment options and don't max out your insurance like other practices might. And Dr. Lew is great! I’ve never had such a lovely experience at a dental office! I had avoided going to the dentist for a few years after a bad experience and was terrified to return - but from first meeting Araceli at the front desk and talking my hygienist Hope, I immediately felt reassured! Dr. Lew was so kind and gentle, when I returned today for a filling, I wasn’t anxious at all! They truly care for their patients and treat patients and their coworkers like family.
