Honestly, the front desk staff at GPHA in Philadelphia was terrible when my dad took my sister in for dental services. He just asked if they do teeth cleaning, and the receptionist got angry, saying, 'Did I ever tell you that?' My dad's a cancer patient and stays calm, but she lashed out for no reason. It breaks my heart to see him treated like that. For a community health center in PA, you'd expect better care.

Aaron Wan is a terrible provider at GPHA in Philadelphia—untrusting, uncaring, dismissive, and unhelpful. Really disappointing for someone needing behavioral health services or medical care in PA.

Got to the location in Philadelphia at 5:30 on Wednesday—their website says they're open until 7 PM for medical services. Everything was shut down, and nobody answered the phone. Super frustrating when you need low-cost healthcare in PA and can't even get in.
We apologize for the confusion with our hours at GPHA in Philadelphia. We're reviewing our scheduling to prevent this and ensure reliable access to our medical services. Please reach out to us for assistance.

The phymacy lady was rude and told me not to call again

Really disappointed with how hard it's been to schedule an appointment at this Philadelphia office. Tried booking telehealth for behavioral health services and was told to call daily for slots. When I asked about waiting, they said telehealth wasn't an option and to go to urgent care. Same thing with in-person visits—no appointments, just told to go to urgent care. Genuinely confused by this process for family healthcare in PA.
Thank you for sharing this feedback about GPHA in Philadelphia. We're working to improve our appointment scheduling for telehealth and medical services. We value your patience and hope to serve you better soon.
The place is overall pretty clean in Philadelphia, and the doctors, nurses, and operators are usually really respectful. I've been here multiple times for medical services, and to my account, haven't seen any rude people yet. This is just my experience, though—seems like a solid spot for preventive care in PA.
Thanks for sharing your positive experience at GPHA in Philadelphia! We strive to keep our medical services respectful and clean. Hope to see you again soon.
All the staff at GPHA in Philadelphia are really nice and helpful. They speak English, Chinese, and Vietnamese, which makes it so easy for my mom, kids, and me. The schedule is flexible for our family healthcare needs. We'll definitely be back for dental and medical services in PA.
Thank you for the feedback! We're happy to support your family with multilingual medical and dental care at GPHA in Philadelphia. See you next time!
GPHA has to be one of the best doctor experiences I've had as an adult in Philadelphia. The front desk had a mix-up with check-in, but the nurses apologized and told me what to do next time. During my visit, I was uneasy about a procedure, but Dr. Tameka was very reassuring and listened to all my questions. Afterward, they even offered me crackers! Loved that—will be visiting this office for all my medical services from now on.
We appreciate you sharing your experience at GPHA in Philadelphia! Thrilled Dr. Tameka and our team made you comfortable with our medical services. Can't wait to see you again for your healthcare needs.
Always being yelled at whenever I call with concerns at this Philadelphia office. The doctor told me to call the front desk for a blood test and follow-up appointment. I made the follow-up but wasn't sure about the blood test beforehand. The doctor refused to speak with me and said to wait until the appointment. I'm anemic, and she's checking my results—what's the point if she doesn't have them? No one addresses my questions. Terrible service for chronic disease management in PA.
We apologize for this frustrating experience at GPHA in Philadelphia. We're reviewing our communication for blood tests and medical services to improve support. Please reach out to us for help with your concerns.
The customer service at this Philadelphia clinic is so rude and unprofessional. A lady called about my health insurance info today, and I explained I'd provide the updated card at my appointment. She got angry, blamed me for not telling them sooner, and told me to call my insurance agent to elect them as my family doctor. Not respectful at all for patients needing low-cost healthcare in PA.
We're sorry to hear about this issue at GPHA in Philadelphia. We're addressing our customer service protocols to ensure better handling of insurance and medical services. Please contact us so we can assist you directly.
There is no worse but the worst. The front desk service is like a high-ranking judge, interrogating the reason for your appointment, and the attitude makes the patient feel extremely uncomfortable. He decides how and when you see a doctor. It is not easy to make an appointment, but some of the doctor's services are good.
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. We are taking steps to improve our customer services. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you better in the future.
My family has been going to this medical services office for almost three decades. It used to be amazing when Dr Siu was around. But now this place has changed hands multiple times and it is absolutely terrible now and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who needs accurate medical help.
Particularly their PA Kathy (Po Chu) Leung I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND and say avoid her at all costs. She is extremely forgetful, works minimal hours, doesn’t spend time to understand your issues, and has prescribed my Mom the wrong type of diabetes medication on multiple occasions which has caused her long term swelling and leg pain which is absolutely absurd. My mom told her multiple times that she doesn’t feel well and is in pain from the medication but she said it’s probably okay and to keep taking it longer. My mom was in pain for months and she finally decided to stop taking the medicine, and once she stopped the pain lessened but now she has long term pain because of her multiple mistakes. She should not be seeing patients!!!

The employees answering the phone are rude and do not seem to know what they're doing. The chain of communication is inefficient and they will often never get back to you despite promising that someone will call back. I had a covid-19 test and I had to speak to 4 different people and call several times to get someone who could tell me what lab company my specimen was sent to. The people on the phone are so quick to hang up that they avoid answering any questions properly and just say that someone will call with the answer instead of taking a couple minutes to look up information and answer the question with the patient still on the line.
Another time, I called to make an appointment and when I said that I needed an appointment date for a different week, the person I spoke to just quickly told me to call back another day and hung up on me. I called back a minute later and spoke to a different person who was able to schedule my appointment with no issues. What is the training process here?
Additionally, my pharmacy sent over a request for a drug prior authorization MULTIPLE times and they did not even start the process for the prior authorization until I called the office personally. Again, wildly inefficient and it is detrimental to patient care.

Said my co worker was positive for covid so he quarantined. They refused to email or fax the results to us. Had someone finally go down there to get it and the results were negative..... Quarantined and stressed about it for no reason.
A second co worker had a negative experience as well. His father had stomach pains and went to the clinic to check it out. They never tested him nor even looked at him just told him to come back in 2 months. Turns out he had a stomach ulcer that was bleeding out and within a week he had to go to the ER. Luckily the doctors at jefferson handled it quickly and promptly saved his life. They mentioned he had lost over 50% of his red blood cells and was amazed he was alive at all.
This place has no empathy for their patients' pain and are extremely unprofessional. CMS use to be the go to place for chinese immigrants and their children. They use to be a gold standard for medical care in the chinese community but now its just a place that takes your money while providing the least amount of effort and service. Avoid this place.

I don’t even know where to start. This place is supposed to be a medical center who help asian people with language barriers, translation, and I assume understand any cultural indifferences in health care. That being said, I have never ever taken my mother to a place so unprofessional, never speaks her language or able to translate to her exactly what she may need or what her medical issues may require. She’s always left confused or not sure what the medical visit was about. I am not able to be in the exam room with her cause of the pandemic to help translate and say what is really going on with her as I am her caretaker. If you forget any papers, referrals or u needed something from a recent visit, forget calling. They will require u to schedule another appt. The front desk is rude and never know how to handle any of ur concerns during the call. You ask for general information and they just are not sure how to communicate it in a friendly professional manner. We will be switching PCP ASAP.

Worst experience ever! Never on time, if you book an appointment expect to wait for another 2-3 hours to just get seen. I’m definitely Like the person who rarely Write reviews, but this is one where I must right.
Very unorganized and the employees at the center are very rude. In addition, they have no way of releasing medical records. I thought it was patient’s right to be able to get their own medical records. Yet they don’t release them. Brushed off with phone number and extension, which doesn’t work. Terrible service
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. We are working on improving our wait times and customer service. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you better in the future.
DO NOT GO HERE. One of the male nurses was harassing me and they didn’t even fire him! They put him on “probation” and they were going to watch him carefully. Seriously? I’ve been here since I was a baby and chose not to sue them or even call the police. I can’t believe they didn’t fire him...I don’t even feel comfortable going there anymore. He kept telling me I was beautiful and he was asking to listen to my heartbeat and then went inside my bra!!! At first I almost bought into it but I felt that it wasn’t right and I reported it and the supervisor said they’re not licensed to listen to your heartbeat or anything! So ridiculous!!! Be careful of your children, especially your daughters
