I hate going to the dentist, but the hygienist and dentist here made it a very easy experience. I've referred several friends and family to this office because of that. While I still don't like going, the anxiety spike isn't as bad going here for my routine cleanings and exams in Fayetteville.
We're glad we could make things a little easier for you at Hometown Family Dental Centers in Fayetteville. Thanks for trusting us with your care and for spreading the word!
Where do I begin? These people are fabulous! It's very clear that their top priority is making their patients comfortable. I have NEVER had an office go out of their way to help me navigate the needs for my entire family with such clarity and sincerity. Ms Claudia (hopefully correct) is a gem! This lady is nice EVERY time I encounter her. Talk about friendly! I honestly look forward to calling the office because I know I'm not gonna end the call with a knot in my stomach. The techs treat my little girls immaculately during their routine cleanings and exams in Fayetteville! 10/10

Thank you for taking the time to rate us!
Been a patient close to 20 yrs. They are very timely. Appointments are always kept, on time. No waiting with your appointment. Hygienist are always kind, knowledgeable and diligent. No nonsense, yet kind. The office is always neat and clean, no overpowering scents. Wonderful place to go. It's very quiet. Never packed. Most insurance is accepted. Out of pocket cost are marginal. It's worth the extra 15 min towards Raeford. Front office staff does have high turnover, but new hires are kind and thoughtful as well. Great training in customer service. I very highly recommend this dentist office. 5

I'm no good at remembering names, but the dental hygienist and dentist who worked on my teeth were wonderful! I have severe dental anxiety and everyone at the Fayetteville location made me feel safe and that I was in good hands. They answered all my questions and gave me tips on taking care of my teeth. I finally found a dental office that I really like. Thank you so much Fayetteville location!

Check in was easy, waited less than 5 minutes to be seen for my appointment. Sam was wonderful and very thorough with treatments and cleanings. Dr. Skinner was polite, professional and informative. Highly recommend!

I was relieved at first knowing that my 7 yrs old child is getting check and get some help. Because my son is been dealing with tooth ache. First the front desk staff has a very unwelcome aura and they look at me feeling being judged.. Then when we get to finally seen my son they said that they need to take photo of his teeth but the equipment they have was very uncomfortable for my 7 yrs old child because it’s too big for his mouth. The other lady (hispanic) asked someone to help her hold the equipment for her so can hold it she was trying to make it work as gentle as she can be. But with my child already have toothache and swollen gum. They need to be more careful and gentle but that’s not what happened.. The other lady (Black lady) was a little aggressive and she made me leave the room and my child was crying with the procedure because they equipment is being forced to his tiny mouth and the lady wasn’t gentle at all.. Then the check is over they found out all the issues and made plan and everything and how much it’s going to cost us, but in spite of knowing that my child was in pain, main reason why we need their helped, they never make it as an urgent and scheduled him for sedation next year, NEXT YEAR!! I was like, SERIOUSLY ??? the front desk lady said before we leave.. Never explain anything or remind me of his medication. I had to asked her about it and she just told me how much I have to pay.. I don’t think they are professional or know the proper way of doing they’re job as a front desk. No professionalism and they don’t know how to comfort their patients. Very unpleasant and weak service..Not recommended
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Unfortunately, we have only one dentist- the owner- that does pediatric sedation for all three of our locations. We wish more dentists in the surrounding area did pediatric sedation but it requires special training and a permit from the state. If you do find an office that can get your child seen sooner, we are happy to transfer your records.
The waiting room is the definition of austerity( painful chairs) and the young dentist and hygienist made juvenile jokes while filling my cavity. I felt like I was on a sitcom waiting for the laugh track. It was awkward and made me feel even more nervous! They didn’t even rinse my mouth out after the filling was completed. I’m just glad that they filled the cavity properly. I will be going elsewhere to obtain a more premium level of service. The front desk staff are curt and cold( they appear to hate both people and life), but all of the hygienists are genuinely kind and professional. I’d actually return for a dental cleaning as long as I can choose a more professional dentist. I don’t need to hear a chorus of laughter while I’m in discomfort having my cavity filled.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
At first I was pretty happy with my first appointment. I had no issues with it, except the unwelcoming feeling you get from the front desk staff. I was standing around waiting for someone to help me at first and then Shantel, who seems to do the check out never smiled and I could barely hear her speak; she makes me tip toe and lean my ear in to even hear her.
My wisdom tooth extraction experience was not great. I think the dentist who extracted my wisdom tooth was Dr. Barnard and he was not the same dentist who I saw as a new patient. I was awake for the procedure and the nitrous gas did me no justice. I could vividly see Dr. Barnard's frustration on his face when he was trying to yank my tooth out and when I would flitch every time he slipped and hit the roof of my mouth THREE TIMES. I only needed ONE tooth pulled. He seemed more annoyed than anything but I was bleeding and have photos that I will choose not to post on here. My husband got three teeth pulled the week prior and he had no scrapes on the roof of his mouth.
Now today's mouth guard visit was the cherry on top that made me want to go from three stars to one star. First impressions matter and when you work front office and with patients, your front desk staff MATTER. I say this as someone who works with patients and always strives to provide a welcoming experience for patients and building rapport to the people who are trying to determine whether or not to remain patients.
On July 25th, I received a call from Shantell that my mouth guard was partially covered by my insurance. I know this because I write down notes whenever I speak with anyone who is giving me any information. She informed me the amount that would be due and I asked if that was top and bottom or just one. She informed me that "[she] is pretty sure it is" and "yeah it is for both." To my surprise, and the reason I make notation of any info given to me, I was told that they only send the top part. The lady who was assisting me clarified and told me that the front staff "doesn't know what [they] do back here." I can accept that. During checkout, I brought up the situation to Shantel and her immediate reaction was to give attitude asking me if she said that or if she said she didn't know because "[she] doesn't know what they do back there." I told her what she informed me. I asked for clarification and that is what she informed me. She only replied with "if that is what I said then that's my fault." She did not seem sincere.
I understand that you may not know what is done in the back, but it IS ok for you to state that you don't know and that you will find out the answer. What is not okay is to give the wrong information, not bother or care to find an answer for a patient who is trying to budget and get clarification or a better understanding of what was being done, then get upset with the patient when they bring up the miscommunication? I cannot fathom a patient asking me a question and thinking "I don't know" is an acceptable answer without offering to find someone who can better assist, if I did not have the ability to do so.
As I mentioned, she is not welcoming and I had this impression on my first visit. I just left it alone the first time, but now you have a difficult conversation because you were too lazy to ask a colleague down the hall what the proper protocol is then you are giving the patient attitude. She also told me that there were two payments without an explanation. As you can imagine, I was already not pleased with how the conversation started so now I have to ask for clarification again. Once I made my payment, I asked if that is all and she said "you're not scheduling your pick up appointment?" and again, NOTHING is explained. I don't know the protocol. I don't know what's needed from me.
I have no issues with Dr. Pavez or the back staff, but the front office staff is the face of the business for patients. None of them are welcoming or friendly and they are enough to make me want to look elsewhere in the future.
Honestly, the dental care is fine at this office, but the receptionist that schedules the appointments is rude and needs to take a lesson in customer service. Everytime I have to deal with her, she makes me feel like I'm putting her out of her way. So, I'm going to go to another dentist.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you are satisfied with the dental care provided. However, we apologize for your experience with our scheduling team. Your comments are important to us, and we will use them to improve our customer service. We appreciate your input and hope you find a provider that meets your needs.
I have been here many times over the several years and front desk has always been very friendly. They have gone above and beyond to help me as well as the owner (best dentist I have ever had). He has always done what is best for my teeth and listened to my concerns, even explained things in detail to me. He has always asked during procedures how I am doing and I have never felt anything (he's really good at what he does). I recommend this location to everyone and they as well love it here. I am very thankful for everything they do.
Thanks for being a loyal patient! We're thrilled the owner and team have made such a positive impact on your care at Hometown Family Dental Centers in Fayetteville. Your recommendation means everything to us!
Best experience I've ever had with this dentistry. From the greeting at check in to the dentist and assistant we're very professional. They explained everything to what they were going do and I was impressed with how they handled everything. I never felt one pain at all and I had three teeth pulled and they weren't easy ones to get out. I will drive 6 hours back to have the rest of my work done here. I highly recommend them you will not be disappointed.
We know that dental appts can be very stressful and are happy to hear that we had such a positive impact! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review :)
I recently visited this dentist office and I have to say, the experience was fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my visit, making me feel comfortable from start to finish. My hygienist Karen went above and beyond in ensuring that my teeth were thoroughly cleaned - she was very knowledgeable about dental health practices, which gave me added confidence in her work.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with the service provided by this office. As someone who is new to the area (especially military), it can be difficult finding a reliable healthcare provider - but this team exceeded all of my expectations. I will definitely be returning for future appointments and recommending them to others.
Thank you Sabrina for leaving a review! I'm sure this will put a huge smile on Karen's face! We look forward to seeing you again!
