Honestly, I was pretty stressed after another dentist in Fairview Heights told me I had 15 cavities and quoted me a crazy amount. Called Dr. Howenstein and he was super down-to-earth. Made an appointment for my cosmetic dentistry needs, and he actually said most of those "cavities" were tiny and didn't need work right now. Saved me a ton of money! So glad I found this place in Illinois.

Really disappointed with Howenstein Dental in Fairview Heights. My 86-year-old dad needed his new bottom teeth, but they refused to honor the negotiated insurance discount and demanded an extra $1200. Had our payment ready, but they wouldn't even let us talk to the dentist about it. My parents have been patients for years in IL—feels like a betrayal.

I cannot recommend Howenstein Dental highly enough. Particularly Dr Kevin. Truly. He’s just the GOAT. His staff is great, they get you in quick, their fees are affordable with or without insurance, they accept Care Credit, and he’s just excellent at what he does. I got FOUR needles today in my palatte and gums, and a molar pulled, and I never even felt the first needle. Was literally in and out of the chair in under an hour, and we talked about my method of making brussels sprouts and his Dad-Daughter Valentine Dance. He manages to be warm and personable while also highly efficient. That’s a tall order. Highly recommend. Five stars.

It’s rare to find an establishment that provides all-around competent service in any kind of business nowadays. Our family tried a few dental offices before landing with Howenstein after a recommendation from a friend. We’ve been here for several years now. The staff is friendly and responsive. The work done is competent. And the billing isn’t a nightmare. How do I know they are good? My son had to reschedule his appointment. The current schedule was eight months out. They can probably work you in somewhere, but if you have to, it’s worth the wait.

Recently, a hygienist was sick and they had to cancel my appointment, offered to reschedule and had me back in pretty quickly, then I unfortunately had something come up for my friday appointment, they were able to get me in Saturday morning.
