Dr. Irby is hands down the best dentist I've ever been to. He's the only one in Roanoke who would work me in when I needed a root canal as a new patient - everyone else said it would take months. He even called after hours to check on my pain. Since then, I've had another urgent situation and they got me in same day. His staff is great too. Couldn't recommend a Roanoke dentist more for emergency dental care!

Honestly, my time with Irby Dentistry here in Roanoke, VA has been great over the past two years. I've seen both dentists and had positive experiences each time. When a filling from a previous dentist started coming out, they got me in super quick for dental fillings. The dental hygienist Merry has been incredibly helpful too - she gave me tips that actually made a difference in my dental health. Wish I'd found a hygienist like her earlier!

Terrific experience at this Roanoke dentist office. They didn't try pushing any treatment on me after asking once - when I declined and said my mind was set, they said absolutely, we'll get you taken care of. Was in and out within 30 minutes for my dental exam, and the pain stopped immediately. Would definitely recommend them in the Roanoke area.

I am thankful to have received care at Irby Dentistry on Friday (September 19, 2025). I had experienced a worsening tooth injury the day before (September 18) that needed immediate alleviation. I was able to book the appointment within the day of the injury.
I was in great pain upon arrival at the visit. I received compassion for the state of pain that I was in. After experiencing great physical pain for the better part of a week, the staff's kindness contributed greatly to fixing the injury well before it was physically resolved.

This was my first visit to Irby Dentistry and I am extremely pleased. I had the same dentist for 40 years and he recently retired. It is difficult to find a dentist that will meet all your needs and correctly analyze your oral issues. Dr Irby is very thorough and I was impressed with my hygienist (Mary). I’m certain that I can trust Dr Irby to handle all my oral problems. The office also has all the support personnel to handle insurance requirements. Great experience. I had severe pain in one tooth and had called absolutely everywhere trying to find a place to help, I called here and they got me in the same day! I drove 2 hours here and couldn’t have been happier. They were very transparent about everything and even pulled the tooth in one visit! I will definitely be back here for other visits and checkups! 100% worth the drive!

This Roanoke dentist office was super helpful when my son needed emergency dental care. His impacted wisdom teeth flared up on a weekend, and Dr. Irby actually called me back after hours on a Friday evening, then met us at the office on Saturday. We weren't even established patients yet, but he came in to help anyway. He explained everything thoroughly about the tooth extractions. Don't know why more dentists in the area aren't this considerate, but he definitely is!
