On October 28, the office called to tell me that my child’s insurance “only covered medical and not dental.” This is incorrect. I verified directly with EmblemHealth that my child’s plan includes full dental coverage under Child Health Plus. I immediately emailed the office that same day with a copy of his insurance card (front and back), and they told me someone would follow up within a day or two.
Throughout all of my communications, I repeatedly informed the office that my child has dental coverage, that dental is clearly listed on his insurance card, and that they could easily contact EmblemHealth/Dentaquest to verify it. Despite this, no one ever followed up. On November 3, I emailed the office again asking for an update but received no response. On November 4, I called and left a voicemail with no reply. I called again that evening and was told once more that his card “only shows medical” and that someone would call me back today, November 5 considering his appointment was supposed to be for tomorrow, November 6. I let the employee know that I had taken off from work to attend this appointment with my son and I would like a follow-up.
As of the end of the business day on November 5, I still have not received any follow-up or call back from the office. They dropped my child’s appointment without contacting me or making any effort to resolve the issue. This repeated failure to respond and negligence in verifying coverage have effectively denied my child timely access to covered dental care, in violation of Child Health Plus access and availability standards. I will be filing a formal complaint with the NYDOH as well as my child's insurance company for Denial of Dental Care and Failure to Respond.
UPDATE FOR THE BUSINESS: My child’s first-ever dental appointment was booked for November 6th at 9 AM. Are you seriously claiming that my child was not a patient when I have email confirmations from Nancy Amaya asking me to send my child’s ID card? I also have a voicemail from your office directly stating that my child has an appointment on November 6 but he does not have dental on his plan! This appointment has been in my calendar for over a month. To imply that I’m lying or that we were never patients is absolutely unacceptable.
Instead of taking responsibility (which the office clearly refuses to do—especially since I’ve already filed formal complaints), you’re now attempting to rewrite the facts. The office did not reach out to me until after I posted my reviews on Yelp and Google on November 5th and 6th. Prior to that, there was no effort whatsoever to correct your mistake.
It’s also worth noting that your staff was able to locate my child’s name in your system on November 4th, yet still insisted he only had medical coverage. And yet, when I sent emails or left voicemails, no one responded—but the moment a public review appeared, suddenly the office called.
This was supposed to be my child’s first dental visit, and instead of care or professionalism, I was met with complete disregard and dishonesty. Truly unacceptable behavior from a pediatric dental office.
We’re sorry to hear about your experience, but after checking our records, it appears that we do not have you listed as a patient at our office. We’ve also tried reaching out several times to clarify the situation, but unfortunately, your voicemail box has been full each time we’ve called.
Honestly, our first visit was terrible. They offered gift cards for reviews, so beware of fake ones. Only one dentist was working, she seemed overwhelmed and rushed. For my 2-year-old's first dental visit, she didn't even introduce herself, just put her hand in my child's mouth right away. My child bit her and she admitted it was her fault, then left abruptly. Not what I expected for pediatric dentistry in North Babylon.

My daughter has been coming here since she was old enough to see a dentist. Never had any issues with the staff or dentists—they're professional and to the point. Just a heads up, there's a 10-minute grace period for lateness, otherwise you have to reschedule, so I always keep that in mind. Works well for us in North Babylon.

Everyone was welcoming and kind. My daughter is on the spectrum and does well when things are explained to her. The hygienist and dentist were patient, let her look and touch, and made her feel at ease. They even have cute prizes and a bouncy ball machine at the end. I had a very disappointing experience at this office. Not only were we overcharged for services that were never clearly explained, but when I asked questions about the bill, the receptionist at the front desk was extremely rude and dismissive. Instead of helping resolve the issue, she acted like I was a burden for even asking. For a pediatric office, you would expect kindness and professionalism, but unfortunately that was not the case. Between the lack of transparency with billing and the unprofessional attitude at the front desk, I cannot recommend this place. Families deserve better care and respect.
Today we had a really good visit. My daughter went in for her checkup and left happy—which is huge because she's usually scared of the dentist. I absolutely love this place for my kids dentistry! They have a beautiful office with games and big TV in the waiting room, individual TVs in each exam room, and lovely holiday decor. The front desk staff is extremely friendly, and all staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always make my kids feel at ease. They run on time! That is the best part! I have never waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room!! Definitely recommend!

My kids love it here! They have a game room and movies playing to entertain them while they wait. The wait is not long either. They are fast and gentle. I appreciated being ask if is ok to do something for my kids instead of just doing it. Been coming for 2 years now and I’m glad I found the place.
