Honestly, our first visit to Kids First Pediatric Dentistry in Elgin, IL was absolutely fantastic. Every single person we met was so kind and professional—special shout out to Indra, Christina, Vanessa B., and Dr. Cain. Watching Dr. Cain and her assistant work together on my son's cavity filling was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. They were both super gentle with him and got him in and out quickly while treating him with such care. Amazing experience, and I'd 10/10 recommend them to anyone with a nervous kiddo needing restorative care in the Elgin area.

We had a very good first experience as new patients at this Elgin pediatric dentist! The office is clean and colorful, which is perfect for kids. All the staff we met were super friendly and work so well with little ones. They have awesome prizes after the dental cleaning, and my kids are actually excited to go back! From the moment we walked in, I felt the weight lift off my shoulders. Dr. Karsten didn't just treat my son—he treated him like his own child. This place is absolutely amazing for children and parents alike. My child is 11 and this is the first time shes left the dentist happy. They showed her the tools, explained every step gently, asked her to do things nicely and with a familiarity as if the doctors had known her forever. They even helped pull two of her very loose teeth and rewarded her with two Popsicles. I did not see any child screaming, crying, or scared while there. Highly recommend this place for all child dental needs!

We absolutely love Kids First, Dr. Matt, and his whole team in Elgin. Their approach to working with kids is stellar. First, they educate you in the initial paperwork on how to talk to your kid about going to the dentist—specific words to use and avoid. Then there's the office space: it's a group area where all the kids get their teeth cleaned together, which is genius. Dr. Matt and his hygienists are such good people—relaxed, positive, and they make the whole experience enjoyable. Fun prizes too! Great for pediatric dental cleanings in Illinois.

This is a fantastic place for kids. My daughter had a situation that required instant attention. However, the treatment was not conducive to her college school schedule. Ruby the receptionist worked hard to get us in before my daughter went back to school. The assistant assured us that the third visit could be done when my daughter comes home from school for break. I then signed on the dotted line for care. They know the importance of care and a tight schedule and make it all work! Thanks Dr. Matt and staff!

My almost 6-year-old had his first dentist appointment in almost 3 years today at Kids First Pediatric Dentistry in Elgin, IL. He has autism and has never been a fan of invasive procedures, so I was nervous. But today was amazing! The ladies at the front were so kind, Mikayla did his cleaning and explained everything at his pace, and Dr. Matt was super gentle. You can tell the staff truly cares about their patients, especially with special needs. Sedation dentistry options here in Illinois made all the difference for us.

The dental hygienists and the doctors are over the top nice and just wonderful with kids. It’s always a pleasant experience. They make them feel so comfortable and I love how they had the office decorated in Christmas decorations and played holiday music.
Of course, my kiddos love the little stickers and tattoos at the end!

I am extremely grateful for the Kids First team. Dr. Matt and his staff truly go above and beyond. My daughter had a sports injury that required an emergency splint to save her front tooth. She was supposed to have it removed after 4 weeks, but due to a scheduling conflict we had to cancel that appointment and reschedule for the end of the month.
On the day of the original appointment, Dr. Matt personally called to explain how important it was to remove the splint on time and that delaying could cause permanent damage. Even though I now live on the south side of Chicago and it would take almost two hours in rush hour to get to Elgin, he and his team stayed late just to make sure my daughter was taken care of.
They removed the splint, educated me on the seriousness of her injury, and even waived the payment because insurance didn’t cover the procedure, he didn’t want anything to delay her treatment. The kindness, compassion, and patience they showed truly moved me.
I’ve lived in Chicago for 3 years and still bring my kids here because nothing compares to the care Kids First provides. They are heaven-sent. We’re patients for life!

We have always had the best experiences at KidsFirst but this last appointment we had yesterday was definitely review worthy. I brought both of my children to have a cleaning and exam, the hygienists were incredible. My daughter was very worried about having xrays done as they can be uncomfortable and the hygienist calmed her down, reassured her, he was AMAZING. My son also kept saying I always want that hygienist (a different one), he made me so comfortable and he was so cool. Everyone there goes out of their way to make sure that going to the dentist is a positive experience and now my kids love going to their cleanings.

I am incredibly grateful for the outstanding care I received at Kids First. Karolina was amazing — she made sure I was seen quickly by Dr. Cain after my tooth became infected, and thanks to her efficiency and compassion, I was able to have the tooth extracted the same day.
Dr. Cain was wonderful, and her assistant Tiffany went out of her way to keep me comfortable throughout the entire procedure. Their teamwork, kindness, and professionalism turned what could have been a stressful situation into the best dental experience I’ve ever had.

Our experience with Kids First was beyond amazing . From the moment we walked in Caroline greeted us and checked us in. Then Miranda, Viviana, Ryan, and Dr. Teli were like magical tooth fairies .
