Broke my back tooth a few months back and started having pain, so I made an appointment with Dr. Carter in Abbeville, SC. Went in the next morning for emergency dental care - wanted it removed. When he gave the shots, honestly didn't even feel the needle go in. It was one of my back molars, super tough spot, but he did a great job. No pain at all, and I'm usually a big crybaby about this stuff! Healed up nicely after. Great job, Doc!

Been taking my child here in Abbeville since she first got teeth, but their service now? Don't recommend. Had an 8am appointment for a dental checkup so she could get back to school. She was second called back, but after I left and returned, two other people who arrived same time were already leaving. Waited another 20 minutes - daughter texted they hadn't even started, just numbed her when she first got there. It was 9:30 and they were still taking patients. Won't be back, finding another dentist.

Used this Abbeville dentist for over 10 years, but went today and was really disappointed. Finding another dentist now. My husband switched years ago, but I'd always liked Dr. Carter until today. Felt like he was arrogant and only hears what he wants to hear during appointments. Not the experience I expected after all this time.

Trying to be objective for others in Abbeville, SC. Pros: Great location right in the heart of town, secretaries were friendly, hygienist was outstanding during teeth cleaning, office was clean. Cons: Mostly about a filling that wasn't bothering me being redone - now it hurts. Little explanation for procedures, dentist didn't listen to my symptoms, drilled without anesthetic, felt rushed. Overall: If you only need teeth cleaning, they're fine, but for other work, maybe look elsewhere.
