Two stars because the assistants are amazing, never had an issue with any of them in 10+ years. But the dentist themselves and the reception team are not great. The dentist has zero bedside manners. I was scheduled for a tooth removal with laughing gas not anesthesia, and the doctor tried to blindly shove a needle in my mouth. When I said no, I'm supposed to get the gas, he had an attitude and rushed me out. Didn't do anything with my tooth and I still got charged full price. A few years ago, I got my top dentures from there. They lost the wax mold they did but... Honestly, not a good experience overall. Paid $6,400 for upper and lower dentures and extractions with the promise of dentures within 3 months based on their plan. 3 months is turning into 6. Patient care? They could care less. When I said I'm having problems with bone spurs and bone coming through my gum line, the doctor just rushed me out without any acknowledgment. No aftercare check-up calls were ever made after surgery like promised, nor were medications. They don't take time to explain anything—just in and out and on to the next one, leaving you clueless. So I have two experiences here. First one myself: scheduled an appointment to have a tooth removed. Showed up and they didn't have anyone to pull it from my understanding. Forward to today: wife called to schedule two appointments for our kids, said their age on the phone. Get here, do the paperwork, wait around for 30 mins, get told they can see one for basic care exam but can't see the other. So lack of something going on here. Not great for pediatric care in Elyria, OH.

A gentleman must have saw the fear in my eyes and he stood the entire time holding my hand—well, letting me squeeze his. I have to get his name on my next visit and I will update my review. Started this journey to get my bottom dentures replaced after I lost them (when I found them they were broke in two) by a Google search for a dentist taking new patients. Found Leidenheimer Dental Group in Elyria, OH, called them, explained the issue, made the appointment and off we went. They thought it would be best to make a new pair, I agreed. After the x-ray, I had a pretty long wait about 2 months for insurance to respond. When they did, I made an appointment and we started the process. My mouth is not normal—I've had dentures since I was young. But they worked with me through everything. Couldn't be happier with the partials and dentures I got.

The hygienist who worked with me was so friendly, she made me feel welcomed right away and held a good conversation! The office was clean when I walked in and they were actively replacing rugs, which was a nice refresher. The dentist was also very friendly and happy. After a few visits elsewhere, this office offered me multiple options and talked me through everything. I'm glad I found this place in Elyria, OH, and I'm happy to be getting work done with them—especially for hygiene and general restorative care.

Won’t cancel claims with my insurance so I can get work done at a different dentist. Been almost 2 weeks now and still won’t. Keeps giving me a hard time and nothing but excuses. Next step is getting a lawyer if they don’t fix this.

After the crisis peaked, we were able to return for extractions, cleanings, fillings, and x-rays. Customer service has continued to be professional and helpful. Dissatisfied with my service at this place. Had multiple teeth removed after they reassured me everything would be better after. They didn't make my teeth right and to fix their mess up wanted to further cut into my mouth.They always seem to be in a hurry never being able to take the proper time with you. And always with someone different so they have no clue who you are. And then sfter all the treatments and a year and half later my quality of life has changed because of what they have done to me. Do you think they have even reached out for a check up or to see how things are going they have not. Once they get there full amount of money from the insurance they don't care. Your just a dollar sign to them beware. Now I'm stuck trying to find someone to help me with my situation. And dealing with what I have until then. Sucks big time!!
Every time I come here it's always something. I had a root canal done on my tooth. They told me I would have to come back for a crown, so they filed the tooth down really small. Then later on, in future appointments, they tell me I don't need the crown and now they just saved my tooth down for no reason. Also, whenever they send me to a specialist, the specialist says something completely different. So I don't think they're doing a good professional job here. I feel every time I go, they just play in my mouth. If you need root canals or crowns in Elyria, OH, be cautious.

So where do I begin; let’s start with this place did some fraudulent billing and charged not one but TWO insurance companies for a prosthetic that they ended up losing and still charging me for them. I had several crown work done from this office, that all are failing due to poor crowns and poor placement of the crowns and posts as well. Then when I call to discuss coming back to get work fixed and to get the prosthetic that they billed the insurance companies for as well as saying that I owed 712$ for my portion, Dr Leidenheimer himself said that he would not accept me into his practice anymore!! Then I was told, don’t worry about the 712$ it was already sent to collections!!!!! Like FOR REAL!!!
So let’s get this straight, bill two insurances for same thing, do shotty crown work, LOSE a patients prosthetic, THEN say they won’t see you back in there office?? Yep… well I have reported this to the Ohio dental board for review as well as contacted insurance companies as well. I suggest anyone thinking of coming here to strongly reconsider. I have also contacted fox 8 as well and discussing the situation. People need to see what kind of dental practice this is, and Dr Leidenheiner should not have a practice!!! Will be taking screen shot of this review and posting on social media sights so everyone knows what to expect from this company.
I’m a huge scaredy-cat when it comes to dentists but yesterday, unfortunately I had to go and get four root canals done on my front teeth. And I have to give a shout out to Dr. Bernie.
That man is amazing. He talked to me through all my anxiety and panic. He kept checking to make sure that I was OK. I was so comfortable in his hands. So Doc, if you see this THANK YOU
Told me I needed 6 teeth pulled. Failed to mention that it’d be thousands of dollars for crowns. Refused to give me anything except Tylenol if I did choose to get my teeth pulled with them. I went and got a 2 nd opinion from another dentist. Was then told all my teeth were salvageable and I only needed 1 tooth pulled. This practice is a joke.
My bf recently got his wisdom teeth extracted & after telling the staff multiple times he has a prior jaw fracture & 1 of the wisdom teeth was located on a nerve the doctor yanked on his jaw while performing the extraction! Since then more than 8 days later he’s still in excruciating pain, not only from his gums but his entire jaw & face! He was never given post opp paperwork! Just Ibuprofen & a call later asking to extract another tooth! He will never go back there again & I highly DONT recommend any of their services!
I'm really not a fan of this office but trying to get into another dentist is time consuming. Someone said that the dentist is brutal when extracting teeth. I agree. Got wisdom teeth out and they just didn't care. They handed me paper prescriptions knowing I was so numbed up I couldn't talk. And I felt sick so I had to go to my pharmacy and drop off those and I couldn't even wait I felt so sick I went home I didn't get my pain medication until the next day. And than I got scheduled for an appointment another time it was supposed to be for two things and they only scheduled one and they messed up and wanted me to come back in. I put time aside to get to my appointment and it's kinda difficult to be by myself I have kids. There are better dentist offices. They need to work on their service towards people and be less aggressive. As far as wait times there's been times when I have waited an hour and than other times where it's 10-15 minutes. But I see other people who came in after me being seen first.
