After dealing with all that insurance craziness, I wasn't exactly thrilled about dental work. But Dr. Frisher and Allie at Oakwood Dental in Staten Island totally turned things around. They were both gentle, considerate, and actually pretty funny while working on my teeth. The dynamic duo made what could've been stressful into something way better. Never going anywhere else for dental care in NY.

Had a really frustrating experience with Oakwood Dental on Richmond Ave in Staten Island. Started treatment in September, got referred for a root canal in December, then was supposed to get a crown placed in January. They canceled my January 3rd appointment saying they were waiting on insurance authorization, then canceled the February 5th reschedule for the same reason. Not what you expect from a dental practice in NY.

Been coming to Oakwood Dental in Staten Island for about a year now, and Dr. Frisher and Alley have done excellent work. Had pretty much everything done on my teeth, and every visit has been comfortable and surprisingly fun for a dental appointment. The work is always done really well - super happy with how my smile looks after their cosmetic dentistry. Definitely recommend them to anyone in NY looking for great dental care.

Went to Oakwood Dental in Staten Island for some routine dental work and saw Dr. Abbas and his assistant Ally. They were both really professional and caring, explained everything clearly, and treated me with care. Would definitely recommend them to anyone in NY looking for a good dentist. Dr. Pannone over at Oakwood Dental is fantastic! He's always professional but really down to earth and friendly. Never rushes through appointments - takes his time to be thorough. Jenn in billing is super helpful, and the young woman who does X-rays is always smiling yet professional. Found a great Staten Island dentist who actually cares about his patients.

Left this practice as the front desk manager Jennifer was fraudulent, incredibly rude and a waste of time. After confirming my appointment via text and phone calls over a weeks' time, they refused my insurance and asked me to pay cash when I showed up. I had taken time off and got childcare for this appointment. They cited a discrepancy in insurance paperwork after I had been going there for 5 years.
It was Jennifer that tried hustling me by asking to pay cash because they were not going to use my valid insurance.
I have since removed my family from their practice and fixed the paperwork myself.
The times I was able to use this office the people doing the dental work were very young and appeared to be students.
After a bad experience with another dentist, I was pretty nervous about dental work. When I cracked my tooth over the holidays, Oakwood Dental in Staten Island got me in right away. Dr. Frisher made me feel comfortable from the start - patient, attentive, explained everything as he worked. His calm, friendly demeanor made the whole emergency dental care experience way better than expected. Office is clean and modern too.

I got a rookie.
Long story short, I needed a tooth extracted. The tooth was prepared the prior week for a crown but when I went back, I was told the tooth cracked and needed to be extracted. Didnt discuss extraction options. Just shot me up with novacaine and he had me reclined in the chair for an HOUR! Im wide awake and it was awful. My neck and head constantly moving.Pulling and twisting on the tooth. Bad call on the dentist. No one should suffer having a tooth removed. God Bless the Oral Surgeon’s.
I needed an oral surgeon! I had no idea it would take a whole hour!
I went home emotionally, mentally and physically drained and exhausted.plus a headache. I cried all the way home.
Since then, I haven’t been back to any dentist as Im traumatized.
The next day, I woke up with a lot of neck pain plus bruising on my face besides swollenness. No follow-up call to see how Im feeling. NOTHING !

Being new to Staten Island, I had no idea where to go when my wisdom teeth got infected. Called Oakwood Dental and they got me in the very next day. The team was super professional and kind, answered all my questions, and helped schedule the wisdom teeth removal. My first visit was today and I have bad anxiety and broke my front tooth on top of needing a bunch of other dental work that makes me insecure about going to the dentist to begin with. I was so nervous about going but once I got there the front end staff was very polite and friendly, then when I got called in my anxiety really kicked in when the most beautiful girl you could imagine had to look inside and X-ray my mouth. She was super nice and reassuring and went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable during and even helped after making sure I get out to sleep for the oral surgeon visit.
Dr Abbos was also very nice and didn't make me feel uncomfortable either which I know I'm not the only person who feels like this when your teeth are messed up and you have to go to the dentist. So if you have a phobia of the dentist I would recommend trying this one, they were highly recommended from people at my job. Then we came up with a dental plan and I'm honestly very relieved and super excited about my next visit. Praying I get these approvals because Dr abbos seemed quite capable and confident that we can get some teeth back in my mouth. I don't usually write reviews but ive also never been excited about going back to the dentist so I figured I'd write one. Special shout out to the new girl behind the desk and the assistant with the dimples, they both seemed genuinely friendly and not like they were forcing it because it was their job.
Went to Oakwood Dental in Staten Island for a cleaning with hygienist Gianna and a consultation with Dr. Abbas. Both were excellent - informative, professional, and efficient. Didn't have to wait long at all, and I was out pretty quickly. They inspired confidence, so I'm definitely continuing my dental care with Dr. Abbas and coming back to Gianna in 6 months for my next teeth cleaning.

Gave one star because i had to, wouldn’t let me leave zero. Very unprofessional office reception whining about wanting to leave and get out of there from the second i walked in. my daughter went an hour before i was bringing my son and they asked HER to text me to come in early several times. clearly i know why it’s a friday after thanksgiving. dentist left they don’t tell me this till after my sons cleaning is started that if they find anything I should come come back!!! as if abaso’s time is more valuable then mine!!! and guess what they did find something and tried to get me to book next week!!!! hell no. most unprofessional practice ever. no heads up nothing and to boot THIRD time this has happened to me there with no explanation or heads up!! further delaying treatment by not getting seen my a dentist at the time of the cleaning. don’t get me started on the cleanings 10 mins later you are done. horrendous!! stay far far away
We love Oakwood Dental! The dentist was thorough, informative, and patient. Our dental hygienist, Nicole, was wonderful—so knowledgeable and so patient. She even taught me helpful tips and tricks for both my son’s dental care and mine. We’re so grateful for the amazing team at Oakwood Dental!
Had 9 am appointment. Was there by 8:50. I took that appointment time because it was the first of the day. I had another planned appointment at 10 am and I was there just to be looked at quickly to reevaluate an infection. Dentist walked in the door at 9:25. I was brought in room at 9:30 and still waited. Nothing said about being late. Don’t ask your patients to arrive early and then staff arrives late.
Dr Graziano and staff were great I was very nervous about getting a crown and he numbed me and I didn’t feel a thing they were very attentive. I would like to add that I had another crown made for my front tooth , this time Dr Gold worked on me and she was amazing. The tooth matched perfectly from the temporary to the permanent they took very good care of me . The staff even went out of their way to get me in as soon as the tooth was ready because I had a wedding to attend I can’t say enough good things about this place. I highly recommend them

I have been a patient of Dr. Abass's for a few years now. He is awesome. I suffer severely from anxiety when it comes to going to a dentist. He knows how I am and is so kind, patient and compassionate. Always works with a patient knowing how costly it tends to be. I highly recommend!

I've been going to Oakwood Dental over 20 years,as well as my family. We've always had a great experience,very professional staff. My recent visit was with Stefanie she gave me the best cleaning.
