I really struggle with the fact that I get kicked out from being with my child during their exam and procedures. My child was nervous and in tears and I basically shooed away and told "everything will be fine". Sure it will but my child needs me and by barring me off from being nearby doesn't sit well with me. I even went back in after I paid my bill and they told me they'd get me if they needed me. Why can I not sit with my child? Do you not think this causes an issue with a child who is nervous? I wasn't sure what to do as I had my other children with me. I find it a poor way to run a business especially when there is trust that needs to be built up.
First experience at a Pediatric office. My son saw Dr. Rachel and I am beyond blown away at the care received. My son has sensory issues, and the thoughtfulness of the doctor and assistant during his procedure was unmatched. The nasal mask and topical really had my kiddo shutting down with stress.... Dr. Rachel held his hands, and did what she could to make him as comfortable as possible. As a parent..... I can't thank her enough.
The prices were reasonable, the office is beautiful, and the explanations of what we needed to do with his treatment was very clear. They answered any and all questions I had.
From the front office staff, to doctor and assistant, I couldn't give a higher recommendation. Thank you for helping my son, keeping him as comfortable as possible, and giving him the best care. I am extremely thankful for PDA.
My son needed dental surgery. He also has sensory needs and fear of the dentist. Dr. Hobbs was completely understanding and patient. He explained everything about the surgery. He was incredibly kind and patient with my son. The staff kept me updated leading up to the surgery on what to expect. The anesthesiologist also called me and talked me through the process the day before. They were efficient in getting everything my son needed done, and saving me money as much as they could. The day of the surgery, I was allowed to sit with my son until he fell asleep, and then they allowed me to sit with him as he woke up. It was like I had never left his side. My son is feeling great now. I highly recommend Dr. Hobbs and his team. They all made the process simple, and I knew exactly what we were walking into. Now, my son doesn't think the dentist is all that bad. I'm relieved that PDA took such a scary, daunting experience and made it so calming and smooth. THANK YOU!!
Wonderful care team for our children’s dental health. They are so sweet and patient with kids. Facility is very clean. Our young children look forward to their dentals visits. Through multiple procedures, Dr Hobbs has always been a champion for our daughter & her oral care.
Dr. Hobbs and his staff are incredible! Both of my boys used to be so anxious about the dentist, but over the last year he has earned their trust and eased all of our minds. I'd recommend him to anyone.
Made an appointment for our son. It was 2 months out. They sent all the paperwork for insurance. Release forms and etc. They also sent an APPOINTMENT REMINDER. Which was dated the wrong date. They also sent a text message with the correct date. We called in asking why our appointment was on a Saturday. They are not open on Saturdays. Dana was the representative we were speaking with, and she informed us his appointment was on the 7th and not the 17th. We told her about the dilemma, and that someone on their end made a mistake, and sent us the wrong date. She said we confirmed the appointment by pressing “C” on text messages. (Which isn’t true) and that we would have to pay $100 to reschedule, we called again and explained to her this was a simple mistake made on their end, and we shouldn’t have to be held responsible nor penalized for this. She simply said again that we confirmed the text message. (We did not) and that she would talk to the Dentist and see if they would waive the fee. She called back shortly saying unfortunately even though we made a mistake by sending the wrong date. You confirmed the appointment by texting C for confirm. (We did not) I’m including photos of evidence. I’m sure they are a great dentist, but as far as Dana and admitting to a mistake on their end I feel that this is unacceptable and we shouldn’t be penalized for someone’s else’s mistakes. Feeling uneasy that they weren’t willing to make this right.
I had an incredible experience with Dr. Hobbs and the entire team at Pediatric Dental Associates. Dr. Hobbs was gentle, patient, and took the time to explain each step of the procedure in a way that was easy to understand. I was a little uncomfortable about not being allowed back while my daughter was being worked on. But the staff explained that it was for the privacy of other children and to focus more efficiently on my child. My daughter loves Dr. Hobbs and his team. We will be coming here for all her dental visits from now on!
Dr. Hobbs and team is amazing, my three year old looks forward to seeing the dentist because of PDA. Dr Hobbs explained everything to me and daughter that we both understood, it also comforted us both. We won’t be going anywhere else. Period.
It is really odd why this dental practice is so hell-bent on ensuring that no parent comes back to sit with their minor children while they clean their teeth. They have no care or compassion for children with sensory issues or those on the autism spectrum either. Dr. Hobbs just says "they need to grow up". I am not sure if their angle is to bill for stuff they don't do and ensuring that parents don't see it to claim otherwise or what. Would you drop your child off a pediatrician and just wait in the waiting room while the doctor does whatever to your child? Then why should it be allowed in a dental setting? Especially since no explanation is given as to what their reasoning behind this weird policy is.
Needless to say, there are several other dentists in town who have zero issues with a parent being in the room with their 5 year old while their teeth are being cleaned. I would steer clear of this place and it's rude staff.
Dr Hobbs & his staff are amazing!! Took my 5 year old granddaughter today and she did great. She has CP and sensory issues. They were so caring & patient with her. She had the biggest smile on her face when we left. Definitely recommend their office.
I brought my 2 year old in for an initial check-up. I was slightly nervous about how it would turn out considering they usually don’t have the parents sit in the operating room with their children. However, I did not have to leave my child since it was the initial appointment and she is still small. She just sat on my lap while they checked her mouth. Dr. Hobbs has so many fun things up his sleeves to intrigue the little ones. My child enjoyed the experience. ☺️ Dr. Hobbs was also very thorough in answering my questions and made sure to touch on every aspect of my child’s oral health. It was a very helpful visit.
I am so very happy that we got a second opinion with Dr. Hobbs. We were referred to a pediatric dentist and the first dentist we went to was not a great experience and I did not love ANY of the treatment plans.
Meeting with Dr. Hobbs and his team was 1000% better and I could not have felt more comfortable! My son did great, left happy, and is excited to go back for the dental work he needs, which makes this mom feel better that he is not scared.
I was also so much happier with the treatment plan provided and so thankful for Dr. Hobbs and taking the time to explain to me what needed to be done and the best course of action! We are going to split things up into a few visits and all parties were involved in making the best plan for my child, rather than me just being told that my only option was thousands of dollars….
Overall I can’t even express how much happier and comfortable both myself and my son were here!
We had our initial exam for my 3 y.o. and it was a great experience! He was patient and gentle with my son, who is pretty uncooperative, and gave me all the options we needed to fit him best! Dr. Hobbs was kind and efficient and the office is very kid-friendly as well. We look forward to our 6 month check up 👍
The office is very clean and staff were efficient. I was able to complete all the paperwork prior to the appointment. Once we were called back we were placed in a consultation room and waited for the Dentist to speak with us before we went back to the chair. My daughter has Down syndrome. She is very verbal and tells me often she doesn't want to go to the dentist. Every dentist we have had in the past has been unsuccessful. I think meeting with the Dentist prior to the exam put her at such ease because we discussed what would be done prior to Dr. Hobbs taking her back. We had such a great experience.
From our consultation to post OP, Dr. Hobbs was phenomenal! He explained everything clearly and was so great with our young child. The ladies at his office and the ones we worked with at Southwest Surgical Suites were all fantastic as well. Dr. Hobbs even contacted us in the evening after surgery to check on our son. We would highly recommend PDA.
Always friendly staff.
We have been patients for 6 years and have really been pleased w PDA since the beginning, when my daughter was terrified of dentist, they made her feel comfortable and took the time to understand her fears.
Dr. Hobbs is just amazing and will be sad for the day when our daughter is too old to go to them.
Highly recommend them especially if u have kids that are unsure.
Had an amazing experience with Dr. Hobbs and his team! My son was pretty nervous after a bad experience at a previous dentist and after his appointment with Dr. Hobbs, he can’t wait to go back! Highly Recommend!!
Took my son for a consultation today and he liked it there!! My son is 3years old! And had a bad experience at his last dentist office! So I think this place is better!!! Hobbs seems to know what he is doing when it comes to kids!! He didn't even need me in the room to do his x-rays and take a look at all his teeth! He normally won't go anywhere without me! So I would definitely recommend this place to anyone with kids!
Dr Hobbs and his staff are wonderful. We have been clients for several years now. Our daughter is autistic and Dr Hobbs is absolutely wonderful with her. She always gets some anxiety when she hears "Dr." When she leaves PDA it's always with a smile. Thank you for doing such a great job with our daughter!
The staff is super friendly. Dr. Hobbs does an amazing job with kids, especially two of them who didn't have a great first experience with another dentist. He takes time to explain any issues and my kids always feel comfortable going!
