The staff here are nice and respectful, which is the only reason it's not 1 star. About a year ago, Dr. Markham recommended a procedure for gum recession on one tooth. I was there for over two hours and had to come back multiple times for check-ups. When scheduling the next appointment, he made it sound like he was doing me a favor by coming in on his day off, like it was my fault the procedure didn't go well. Also, while drawing my blood, the person got distracted and blood dripped onto my clothes. Mid-procedure, Dr. Markham started chatting with his assistant. Not the best experience for periodontal therapy in Federal Way.

Honestly, this place has gone downhill since Dr. Markham took over. The front desk staff isn't great either. I wouldn't give even one star if I could. He messed up my treatment so bad—I had pain, swelling, numbness, and jaw pain afterwards. He had to redo his work because he did it wrong the first time. My son got a filling done twice on the same tooth, and months later he's still uncomfortable. Dr. Markham just said, "He will get used to it." And their billing? Feels like fraud. They scammed me. Stay away from Federal Way folks.

Dr. Markham and his staff were great. I had an old filling break on a Friday, but I wasn't in pain, so they got me in first thing Tuesday morning. In and out with a new metal-free filling in less than 30 minutes—no burger though! Couldn't ask for better service in Federal Way.

Over the past 3 months, I've had multiple fillings, caps, and a root canal. I was terrified of the dentist, and each visit stressed me out. But after these 3 months, my fear is gone and my teeth have never been better. Huge thanks to the front staff Jackie and Elizabeth for keeping me company, Dr. Markham for his incredible work, and especially dental assistant Kealany who helped me through my anxiety and all the procedures. Went here a couple months ago for a TMJ pain consultation. They charged $750 and didn't bill my insurance. They took a bunch of pictures and did tests, but one test where the doctor put sticks in my mouth then pushed hard against my hands seemed like pseudoscience. Some equipment looked homemade. At the end, he said he'd review my tests and give a recommendation, but I never heard back. Felt like a scam for TMJ treatment in Federal Way.

The staff (receptionist's, dental assistants, and dentist) at Puget Sound Dental Welllness are amazing! You see I am one of those people that is very hard to numb and I have really bad anxiety at the dentist, well and at the doctor's office. the dentist assistant was very kind, patient and gentle as she prepped me for a crown and took care of the tempariary crown. Dr Markham was so gentle and understanding and he treated me as if he had all day, when I know he didn't. He also wanted to be sure I didn't have any pain and made sure to numb accordingly. So, if you are the type of person that has trouble getting numb at the dentist or have had not so great experiences, please try Puget Sound Dental Wellness, as you won't be disappointed in any aspect of your dental experience.

Wonderful office staff, dental assistants are kind and compassionate and the main Dentist is knowledgeable and also super funny. I was recommended this place by a friend a few years ago and they have done such a great job. They almost always get you in immediately right when you get there or even a little early if they can. I just went in today to get three cavities filled and I was out of there in exactly one hour. I highly recommend them!

Such an amazing experience. I needed a lot of work done, but throughout the process, I had so little anxiety—and I usually get super anxious at the dentist. The staff were welcoming, and Dr. Markham and the specialist I saw for a second opinion both answered all my questions thoroughly and showed me visually what needed to be done. During my procedure, they walked me through everything and made sure I was comfortable. Dr. Markham even cracked jokes to lighten the mood. If you need metal-free fillings or laser dentistry in Federal Way, this is the place.

When I arrived, I was not greeted in any way shape or form. This doctor was new to me and I was treated as if I should’ve known him. They told me I had a cavity, but I had zero pain. They filled what they said was going to be one tooth And when they were finished, which it took forever and ever and ever it felt like a lifetime, I asked why it took so long? They said we took care of three cavities that you had! The dentist said you know me, I get her done. I was thinking I’ve never seen you before. So going forward a couple weeks later, I am in severe pain and I never had pain until he got a hold of my mouth. I just feel like it’s really important that others know what he has done to me. Now I have to try to find another dentist to figure out if he didn’t seal it correctly or what he did? I do not recommend this place.

Many times it only requires an adjustment of the filling to get rid of the tooth sensitivity and we would be happy to do this for you. As usual, this is a complimentary service, if it is needed. If the preparation takes a long time, it is usually because the decay is getting close to the nerve and it is a way of getting rid of the decay, and trying to avoid the nerve. Everyone was super friendly. I didn’t have to wait at all and Dr. Markham might serenade you while he works on your teeth. 😁 It was definitely one of the best dental experiences I have had.

I have suffered from dental anxiety since I can remember. Can we talk about complete dental care avoidance. I would only go when something was wrong. I found this office after moving to Federal Way and finally deciding to go in for routine care. The team listened to my fears and have done everything to make me comfortable. I completely trust my team and now go in for my regular check up’s without fear.

Two days before my dental appointment, I had lower back pain that made it hard to walk or bend. I was worried about lying back in the dental chair, but Dr. Markham offered a Cranial Suture Release to help my back. It took about 10 minutes, no pain, and I got off the chair without help! The effect lasted. So grateful for this alternative therapy in Federal Way.
