Had my cleaning done here and it went perfectly. The dentists and staff are super kind and professional. Both doctors do amazing work and were really respectful. The office workers are friendly too. Honestly, would recommend this place to anyone needing dental work in Cathedral City. Great experience overall.

Made an appointment for a basic cleaning covered by insurance, but they said I needed a deep cleaning for $600 out of pocket. I asked for just a basic cleaning but they refused. Drove 45 minutes to get there, waited 20 minutes in the chair, then had to leave early for work. Felt like they care more about profits than patients.

Dr. Kim and his assistant Gina helped me so much. Gina has been with him for years, which told me he's a good doctor. Then meeting Dr. Kim, I trusted him immediately. Because of his precision, I opted not to use novocaine for fillings—no shots! Gina showed me photos of the cavities so I knew why I needed them. Best dental experience I've had.

I didn't have dental insurance for 30 years. My teeth are a mess. I needed an emergency extraction. I've never had such a gentle one done. And I'm shocked as I have experienced no recovery pain.
I love this dental office. It’s very clean with a very calming atmosphere. Dr. Kim & staff are kind, caring, helpful & extremely knowledgeable. I’m so happy I found this office. I only wish I had found it a long time ago.
Went in today expecting to pay what I paid a year ago, for a crown, $900…at this office… Now he’s Pricing a crown for $1700! And I pay with cash! And they charged me $60 for the visit, when they did nothing! Outrageous! Go somewhere else, this guy ain’t that good… Many other dentists far better here in the valley…
Been a regular at Pure Dental in Cathedral City for a few years. Both my adult kids go too. I like the location and how smoothly things run. I've seen Dr. Tak and Dr. Kim—both are super. Easy to communicate with. Today was for a checkup and cleaning. They're working hard through the pandemic and still providing great care. Keep it up!

I had a really bad experience here. I wasted an entire morning, and didn't even get my basic cleaning taken care of...I cancelled all future appointments and I recommend NOT going here. I've been to dentists, oral surgeons and Orthodontists my whole life, I had everything under the sun done to my mouth, braces, retainers, etc etc. This office is interested in maximizing profits, period. They are not all too interested in much else it seems.
I had an app for 9am, I didn't get seen until 10am. 1 hour burned, the secretary apologized that they were understaffed today. Once I was actually in the dental chair, I had X-rays done on archaic / dirty equipment, by what were seemingly inexperienced technicians. After that was done in a rushed fashion, I sat alone AGAIN, for 30 more minutes...Then Dr. Dong finally shows up, and first explains to me that I would be a great candidate for invisaline, because my teeth are drifting... and that I have 5 areas of brown spots (i've never heard a dentist or orthodontist say those words in all my life, all i've gleaned from this is that they are problem areas to watch), he explains that they'll all need to be drilled subtly, but no local anesthetic will be needed. I have zero pain points anywhere mind you. He also recommends several other high dollar future procedures almost all to do with aesthetic appearances, i.e. whitening and such and nothing to do with general dental health, again... all i wanted was a cleaning. I agree to move forward with the attention on these 5 areas reluctantly and a cleaning.
He then goes away for another 25 minutes... by this time it is well after 11am and the dental assistant from Idiocracy shows back up. They explain we're going to need to do a cleaning and a drilling of the 5 areas, and they ask me which I would like to do first... I was dumbfounded... I get to choose my own adventure here?!! I expressed concern as to how one could go before the other, and asked shouldn't I get cleaned first, I dunno?? At this point, I ask how long it's going to take, because I have other appointments at noon. It's a very good thing I stopped things there, and looked at rescheduling, the secretary then proceeded to show me how my cleaning, and attention to these 5 areas will cost me over $1000 usd. this is with my insurance. After diving into these specifics we've realized that it seems this place is gaming things to drive profits. Also my partner had their teeth "deep cleaned" there and the entire process was maybe 15 sloppy minutes of work... I've had my teeth cleaned every 6 months my entire life, and this is a process of at least 30 minutes minimum. Also they didn't even floss their teeth in the process of said, deep cleaning.
just go somewhere else. save your time, and money.
Don't bother trying to make an appointment for a cleaning because they are booked through September! Like what in the hell is going on? I don't just go to ANY dentist and when I pick one it takes a lot to feel comfortable and so when the dentist I always go to tells me they can't see me until September, it's annoying to say the least. Then I ask for a referral of someone trustworthy and safe and she can't even give me that.

For a private office, should pre-schedule your 6 month appointment on the way out the door.
DO NOT GO HERE. Staff is very inefficient. I was quoted $1,663 for work, then the day before my appointment they said it was actually $3,463—a huge difference. Dr. Kim explained one thing, but front office gave opposite procedures. It was an emergency and they couldn't care less. Had to wait 2 weeks. Filed a grievance. Unbelievable.

Today was my first visit ever to this dentist. Doctor Kim was SO professional and knowledgeable. The front receptionists and dental assistants were equally as professional and very helpful. I’m usually terrified of dentist visits but My experience here has eased most of my worries. I’m looking forward to getting my dental health back in check through this office.
Best dental office I’ve ever been to. Very clean, professional, they get it done fast and right-no run around or long waiting. Everyone has always been super polite and in a good mood. We moved and couldn’t find dental office that measured up so We drive 1.5 hours from out of town to go here every time. Worth it!
Dr Tak and the staff have been providing excellent dentistry to me and my family for over 13 years. I cannot say enough great things about the professionalism and curiosity of the staff, and their consistent above and beyond service.
