First time bringing my kid to this place in Succasunna, NJ for an orthodontics visit. Honestly, the staff was super polite and responsible. They listened to every question we had and gave clear answers. Dr. Marina Gonchar is awesome—she explained everything about our kid's situation and gave us solutions that totally calmed us down as parents. She's really great with kids too, very friendly. Beware of the major lack of transparency in billing and insurance acceptance here. I wish someone had shared this before my appointment.
I’m very disappointed in this office’s billing practices and lack of transparency. This is not the first time I’ve had a billing issue here. Previously, I was surprised with a large bill after learning—only after the fact—that the office had stopped accepting Delta Dental PPO. I never received a notice that they said was sent, because ALL of my children had different, incorrectly spelled addresses on file, so I was unaware that my insurance was no longer accepted. That bill should never have existed—especially since our prior visits were fully covered under the PPO. While they did reduce the charges, I still paid a significant amount out of pocket for something that would’ve been completely covered.
Fast forward to our most recent visit: I now have Aetna and, understandably cautious from past experience, I asked the office about my coverage before making the appointments. They provided me with a list of procedure codes sent by the insurance company, but I didn’t fully understand them. So, the day before our appointments, I called the insurance company to confirm coverage and costs. While I was on the line, an Aetna representative placed a separate outbound call to the dental office and confirmed—on a recorded line—that they would be billing $74 for the cleaning (of which insurance would cover $34) and $52 for the exam (of which insurance would cover $37). Based on this clear breakdown, I agreed to the visit, expecting to owe about $55 per child out of pocket.
Despite that confirmation, the office later submitted charges of $90 for the cleaning and $81 for the exam, increasing my out-of-pocket cost by about $45 per child. When I questioned the discrepancy, I was told their rates “changed in May.” But the confirmation call occurred on July 9, and the appointments were on July 10—not even 24 hours later. If prices had changed, that should have been communicated during the confirmation—especially on a recorded call with my insurance.
The insurance company is now pulling the recording of the call for review. Regardless of how this is resolved, I feel obligated to share this experience. I strongly urge others to request all costs IN WRITING ahead of time and be extremely cautious about billing practices here.

We always have the best experience when we go for cleanings! Everyone in the office is so kind and patient. They explain to my toddler exactly what they’re doing at each step of the process and are super interactive and playful.

Been taking my son here since day one, and Roxbury Pediatric Dentistry has always been amazing. He loved the toy room and all the fun stuff. Even when he had a scary procedure, they made both of us feel totally comfortable and confident. The whole thing took 5 minutes! Now he skips into visits and says he actually loves the dentist. Such a breath of fresh air finding a place in Succasunna where you and your child feel at ease from the door to the chair.

We had an amazing experience at Roxbury orthodontics, my daughter had a baby tooth that was hurting her and needed to be removed by the dentist. Dr Kristin, Corinne and Alexis did an amazing job, my daughter was a bit difficult and they treated her like her own, so much love and patience, at the end of the visit we asked my daughter if she would be coming back and without hesitation she said yes!! we will be moving her to this practice 😊

They have been taking care of my kids for at least 5 years and the dentist have been amazing, even my little one has always felt confortable while been taken care in this office.
Only complaint I have is about an incident that happened recently, where one of my sons was scheduled for an extra cleaning which wasn’t covered by our insurance. When I asked about it the receptionist told that for some kids they diagnose a third cleaning needed. Only problem is that I wasn’t made aware of that or that I was going to be charged for it before hand, and I thought my son was being schedule for his usual cleaning at due time.
Other than that this could have been a five star review.
