Honestly, this was the worst dental experience I've ever had in Columbus, GA. The dentist himself was rude and rough during my procedure - he actually took out the wrong two teeth and stuck me in my tongue! When he couldn't get the third tooth out, he got upset with me. I should've known better when I saw him walking with a walker. True enough, I have a hard time with dentists and his staff did try to accommodate me - they're friendly and the office is clean. But age has definitely caught up with this dentist when it comes to restorative dentistry work.

Dr. Dermer might come off as an old grumpy man at first, but let me tell you - this man truly cares about your dental needs in Columbus, GA. He's serious about his work with dental implants and cosmetic dentistry. His assistant Amy and front office manager Charlotte are amazing too - Charlotte goes above and beyond with insurance coverage and scheduling. Old school but knows his stuff!

I went to my appointment and the lady in the front had me sit in the room to fill out my paper work, then came back in the room and said can you go in the waiting room and do your paperwork work, I said why she said because there’s a patient I said well you just took my x rays and you told me to come in here and sit had me remove my jewelry and everything.. I said I’m a patient too.. I never experienced racism like this before I’m never going back
Against my better judgment, I returned to this Columbus dentist after paying thousands for crowns that came off within a week. When I needed an extraction, I personally asked the manager and front desk to confirm the correct tooth - pointed right to it. Still had issues. The city should look into this place. For restorative dentistry and extractions in GA, there has to be better options.

Made an appointment for a dental cleaning in Columbus and came in early since I'd never been here before. Even though I gave my information, they said I needed to confirm my appointment and didn't? I spend lots of time at appointments daily and have never heard of having to confirm. Between running around to John Amos and other places, I'll just find somewhere else for dental care in GA.

Was really nervous about my first visit to Dr. Dermer in Columbus after hearing stories, but wow - the office was spotless! The staff was not only professional but kind and caring. Had a root canal and the nurse assisting was very hands-on, answered all my questions and put my mind at ease. I have been doing to him for a while. He is a great at what he does. He cares about his patients. He is kind of old school, but is what makes him stand out from the rest. He gives kind words. His staff is always sweet. The office atmosphere speaks the moment you walk in.
Worst dentist I’ve ever encountered. Didn’t allow the time it takes for the pain medicine to kick-in before he started grinding away at my teeth.
In addition, because of his obesity, he would continually pull my neck into his chest while grinding and his bedside manner was less than delightful to say the least.
He claimed my dental records where his property and refused to share them without a fee. He also charged me far more than usual for a crown which, by the way, he failed to complete a root canal prior causing me even more pain once the crown was finally placed. Which took 4 times to mount because the glue kept coming off.
His assistant didn’t believe in wearing a mask during COVID
and that really freaked me out. I’ve had serious problems with the crown which cost me $1200 and the tooth next to the crown was damaged and conveniently needed work months after the first tooth was crowned. He wanted to charge me another $1000 for the root canal to stop the pain and that’s when I threw in the towel.
If you like pain and sky high prices and less than safe conditions, Better Get Saul! His practice is surely sketch at best. Avoid this place like the plague. There’s nothing like it in Columbus. Closer to a concentration camp style of dentistry.
Staff were very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Dermer and his assistant helped me through my procedure (I was very nervous) he was very calm and did his absolute best. & his assistant asked if I was doing ok multiple times. I could not thank them enough. I definitely recommend them for anyone. ❤️
The staff was very nice and friendly and the office is clean but the Dr was not very nice AT ALL, Kind of rude actually. Although he did get the job done he did absolutely nothing to make me feel comfortable. I was told to turn off my phone which I did as soon as he told me then he proceeded to say “if the phone rings I’m getting up and leaving” he also told me to be as quiet as possible and to close my eyes, weird right?!
Bad Experience! Front desk staff was not professional! The dental assistant kept taking her mask of with her gloved hands! Latex gloves were used on me even though I informed them I was allergic to latex!! They tried to take a panoramic X-ray on my even though I’m pregnant! After refusing twice! Then the dentist can in made me feel as if I was inconveniencing him. Told me I need a root canal without any tests besides tapping on the tooth and glancing at it with a mirror. He also kept staring at my wedding band set as if he thought I could afford whatever treatment he threw at me. So he recommended a root canal and buildup and a crown. I went to another dentist and now my tooth is fixed with NO root canal and no buildup and I’m not in pain. I should also mention I am a dental assistant so he tried to pull a fast one on the wrong person!! DONT GO HERE!
My son had a very pleasurable experience with his appointment. The office is clean, they were not super busy and the front desk woman was extremely friendly. She has a beautiful smile and made me feel at home. I will recommend this dental office to everyone I know.

Dermer and his assistant were wonderful. I even had the choice to get my wisdom teeth removed right then and there and didn't have to go through the process of waiting longer and getting sent to a oral surgeon. She made me laugh and feel comfortable, and Dr. Dermer put me to ease with the most fast removal ever! They both kept telling me how well I was doing which made it easy and fast, also made me realize I needed to breathe (lol) HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Over 5 stars most definitely! Thank you ❤️☺️
I had to go into the office five separate times to properly treat just one cavity. I had a gut feeling about this place, and I should have listened to it. Dr. Dermer treated me as if I were bothering him because I needed his services. The first time I met him he did not introduce himself or bother to say hello, just stuck his hands in my mouth, looked around, and then left. He rushed through my procedure, was not gentle by any means, and did not file down my filling so that I was in extreme pain after the numbness wore off and I couldn't bite down normally. His assistant smelled like cigarette smoke, and both of them had very unhealthy looking teeth of their own. I do not recommend this place of business.
Been taking my kids to this Columbus dentist for over 10 years, so I'm familiar with the staff. Had my first dental procedure today - they removed two wisdom teeth that were causing issues fairly quick. Always friendly, honest and knowledgeable with orthodontics and general care. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a dentist in the GA area.
