Cracked a front tooth and called Semtner Dental in Roanoke after hours. They got back to me early the next day and squeezed me in for an afternoon appointment with Dr. Rob. Even called again to move it up earlier! Cathy, Courtney, and Dr. Rob were super quick and saved my four front teeth from future damage. They listen well, hum along to music while working, and are just a joy. Really went above and beyond with my emergency dental services.

Didn't want to leave a bad review, but had a rough experience at this Roanoke dental clinic. Called to book an appointment for my husband, said we needed an endodontist, and they said they had one. He went in, but it was just a regular dentist. They took pictures, charged the insurance, and the doctor said everything was good with no out-of-pocket cost. Then a couple weeks later, I got a bill. Called them, they said they'd get back to me, but nobody ever did. Got another bill in the mail. Pretty frustrating dealing with the billing for what was supposed to be endodontics.

As a healthcare professional, I discovered Dr. Rob Semtner through clients in Roanoke, VA and was impressed with their meticulous dental work. When a friend had long-standing dental pain, I remembered Dr. Rob from 10 years earlier and accompanied her from Pennsylvania. He fixed her problem on the first visit! Since 2018, we make the 6-hour trip annually for things like dental implants and general care. Won't let any other dentist touch our teeth—he's worth the drive.

Pretty upset that I wasn't told this Roanoke office was out of my network until the end of the visit. Charged me $312 for X-rays and a cleaning. They were very nice and thorough, though! Gotta find a more upfront dentist in network for my general dentistry needs.

I’m so glad I chose Semtner Dental for my routine cleanings and anything else I may need in the future. All staff members have been extremely professional and thorough each visit I’ve had. Dr. Holt took lots of time to discuss things I was wanting to achieve and the overall care of my teeth. Dr. Holt & Jesse made my last visit very comfortable, I couldn’t be more pleased and would recommend to anyone I know!!

I can’t say enough positive things about Semtner Dental! From the moment I walked through the door, I’ve felt like every staff member cares about me. My hygienist, Amber, remembers which areas of my mouth are sensitive and is careful when working on these areas. Dr. Mona has been the most attentive dentist I’ve ever had!

Amazing experience! I recently switched dentist from a previous place. Dr. Holt truly cares about his patients and took time explaining everything to me to ensure I knew what was going on with my teeth. For the level of care we receive with Amber, it would be a crime if we didn't rave about her here. Really the very best medical care we've ever known has always come from Amber. Inordinately kind, gentle, patient, understanding, listens very well to our concerns and needs, and is just the very best at what she does. She's super attentive and takes the time and does such an incredibly thorough job, no matter how long it takes--truly unlike anything we've ever seen. And very smart too! She's so thoughtful that she anticipates our needs and remembers all our preferences, and she makes us feel seen and safe. Can't put into words all that she does, and I can not only say that's she provides the best medical care we've ever received, but she's so amazing that I can confidently say it's the best care we'll ever receive, even in the future. If dental hygienists had the Oscars, she'd be Meryl Streep :) No, better!

I needed a kind dentist because I am nervous patient. I experienced tooth pain over the New Year's holiday, and was able to get an appointment at Semtner Dental on January 3rd. I have since had a root canal and a crown, and I feel much better.
Dr. Holt is.kind and patient dentist. The dental assistants and staff are helpful and friendly. The office is warm and comforting, the background music is from the seventies.
The initial exam is thorough and the treatment plan is helpful. I am finally addressing the damage to my back teeth from grinding at night.
I signed up for their in-house dental plan, which seems easier than going through an insurance company. Dental care is expensive, but the level of care here is exceptional and has been well-worth the cost.
I could not be more impressed with this dental practice and am forever grateful for their help.
