Employees are very friendly; Dr. Alex Nguyen, I feel, is a very honest person. Great experience for teeth whitening in Fountain Valley.

Everyone here was pleasant and friendly. Dr. Alex was nice and caring, and he's got a contagious smile! His work on my cosmetic dentistry was detailed and excellent. Would definitely come back and more.

Had a great experience at Smiles By Alex in Fountain Valley. The staff genuinely cared about my wellbeing and Dr. Alex was very professional. The hygienist Cat was super skilled and informative—I learned things I never knew before about taking care of my teeth and gums, especially for periodontal treatment. 5 stars!

Dr. Alex tells you what you need, not just what you might want to hear. I trust this office and everyone in it. I'm very happy to be back somewhere I get kindness and professionalism—especially for dental implants in Fountain Valley.

Every time I go to the office I have a great time with everyone that works there. Dr. Alex is one of the best dentists I've experienced, especially for restorative dentistry in Fountain Valley.

Please open earlier, ok—10 is later than many other dentists. The teeth cleaning hygienist was a bit too rough. Otherwise, the care is good.

No actual work done yet but everything thus far has been honest and up front with no hype or attempts to upsell with unnecessary extras. Dr. Nguyen is very personable and understanding of your circumstances. I have appointment in two weeks, so will know more then... Hopefully I can edit this to give "5 Stars" when I get the complete experience. Right now though....seems to have an excellent beginning. Found them all to be great to deal with, which took the edge off. UPDATE 9/22/17.....Started work today and have the remainder scheduled. Very satisfied all around. Dr. Nguyen lived up to my first impressions (above) and he and his staff were all very pleasant and professional. The old crown removal and installation of the temporary this afternoon were painless. Off to a good start :) 5 Stars. UPDATE 11/14/17......Have gotten a lot more done over the past two months (two lower extractions, bone grafts, root canal and crown, deep cleanings and two fillings, plus a permanent upper and temporary lower partial), all done with little or no pain. Permanent frontier crown looks great and matches perfectly.....what's not to like? Dr. Nguyen and his entire staff have been great for me...still "5 Stars". Now just waiting for the implants. Update 7-23-18: Another painless visit to prep for final implant crown installation in another 3 weeks. Almost done now! :) Update 8-14-18: YAY!!! Got both implants put in today and am very pleased with the result! As always, Dr. Nguyen's expertise and excellent staff (Liberty today) made it a smooth and painless ordeal. Glad the wait is over, they look and feel great. Couldn't want more than that.....:) Update 1-23-19: Had an appointment today for cleaning and checkup. As usual, Cat the excellent Hygienist did a fantastic job!!! She's very professional and observant in making sure your mouth stays healthy and addressing any issues she might find. Also, she's a great teacher, I've learned a lot from her and have been better off all around in my hygiene because of it. Teeth are clean and mouth feels fresh....I'm happy, and we'll do it again in six months 😁 Entire staff at "SMILES BY ALEX" is excellent to deal with. You don't see that often enough these days. Update 11/19/19: Another appointment with Kat... As always, very pleasant and thorough. She keeps me in line with my care and brushing technique and I take it all to heart. As a result my oral health has vastly improved in the three years I've been a patient. I really appreciate all she does! From the Front Desk on back, EVERYONE has been great at what they do!! 7/16/20: Appointment to finish prep for implants. Went well as always. Implants should be in soon. 11/27/20: Went last week for renewing the small coffee stained old porcelain fillings on two front teeth and WOW!!, what a difference! I was totally ecstatic. PERFECT match and completely natural in every way. Really improved my smile more than I would have ever guessed it would. Dark spots are gone!! Dr. Alex and his able Assistant Thanh performed the work....no pain as usual, so that's always a big plus 👍. Update 9/15/23: Cleaning appt. today with Kat....and as always, very thorough. She can catch ANYTHING and has been great in that regard! Today, she caught a loose implant which I had no clue about. Have been going there since 2015, and they still have virtually the same super competent staff...that speaks volumes!!!! Another 10/10!! .Update 7/2/25: As can be seen by my previous reviews over the past several years, I think very highly of Dr. Alex and would not hesitate recommending him without reservation to anyone seeking the highest level of Dental care. He's never failed to deliver and along with providing the very highest quality dentistry is both honest and approachable. Perfect combination!!

My wife went to this clinic for a Root canal few years back and now we found out... That the job that he was paid to do, was never done. At least not all the way through. "dentist" Alex did a Mickey mouse job. And because of his medical negligence now my wife suffers of not only critical but severe infection. If you got any work done here I highly suggest you go elsewhere and get X-rays done to make sure he did what he handsomely charged you for.

I was dreading going to the dentist even though I knew I needed some major dental work. Tried multiple other offices but left them all in tears. Dr. Alex was very patient and made me feel comfortable. His office staff from beginning to end were amazing. I wish I'd come here first for my oral surgery and dental implants!

Dr. Alex is very knowledgeable and an expert in dentistry. My daughter had what she thought was serious gum disease. Kept bleeding and painful. After inspection, Dr. Alex did some deep gentle cleaning on certain areas, removed some plaque and gave her instructions on how to blush and floss. She was more than thrilled to leave with all her teeth and gums intact. Can't thank Dr. Alex enough for taking care of my daughter. The office was clean, staff was very friendly too. We will be back for future denture needs. I highly recommend this place.

I've been going here ever since the office was at the original location. Everyone has always been good to me and I'd recommend going here! As long as you follow what your dentist tells you, your visit should be quick. But life happens and sometimes you need other procedures like crowns and bridges. Front desk was kind and helpful explaining details about procedures, time, and cost of my implant. The cost here was the least expensive. Alex was thorough in explaining and answering my concerns—confident and didn't rush me. When I first reached out, my experience was lacking, but when I arrived for the appointment, I was pleasantly satisfied. Dentist visits aren't fun, but I feel at ease when treated kindly and the dentist is confident. Waiting to hear back on next steps.

Smiles by Alex is the BEST!!! I love Dr. Alex, he is the best around for implants and anything else you need and his entire staff is beyond amazing. Hygienist Cat is so thorough and takes time in teaching you the right way to brush and take care of your teeth and the Dental Assistant Thanh is so sweet and caring! My entire family goes to Smiles by Alex and always will!

This dental office is great! The office staff is friendly and helpful. The hygienist is thorough and works well with kids. Most of all, I appreciate their honesty and no pressure approach. They do a good job in assessing your needs, educating you and allowing you to make the decision on your treatment. Had a great experience today. It had been awhile since my last visit , but so glad to see that Dr. Alex and his pleasant staff give the same warm, friendly, and thorough cleaning Ive experienced before. Beautiful office, nice large waiting area too. Honestly, highly recommend. HB and Fountain Valley residents, come visit this office. A very sincere neighborly and friendly vibe here. Alex of Smiles By Alex and his entire staff take good care of me every time I go in. Had the second molar pulled today and prepared with a bone graft for a Tooth Implant. And this molar was the hell of all molars, but Dr. Alex kept cool - like he had done other tough ones like this many times and that kept me from getting panicky. All and all - great job. Great people. And reasonable pricing. You just can't go wrong picking Smiles By Alex!

Caring and professional staff. I have never had a less than wonderful experience at Smiles By Alex. The staff is courteous and helpful, not to mention talented at their specific role. I always feel appreciated here, unlike other dentists I have visited. You will never be talked into something that you don't need, and options are always provided. Highly recommend!

Dr Alex, has treated my family for some time, I had moved away and seen other Dentists that were closer. I am now going back to Dr Alex, regardless of the drive. He is always friendly, very clean and professional. It is hard to find someone you really trust.Without sales pitches and extra charges. I do have knowledge about the importance of Dentistry in relation to your health. I would highly recommend Him and his staff for an all around professional experience.
