Normally I don't leave reviews, but Dr. Baum and his staff deserve it. The atmosphere is down-to-earth and calming—totally washes away any nerves. My mom referred me here for a regular appointment and emergency oral surgery. Regular visit was quick and helpful, staff nice, waiting area has a cool fish tank. For emergency oral surgery, he got me in right away. Procedure was quick and painless. Definitely recommend! Only wish they took my insurance, but that's okay. I have been coming to stony brook family dentistry for a solid 10 years. Dr Baum has saved numerous teeth for me when other dentists said they would need to be removed. Dr baum uses all the new technology and i never feel a thing. Dr. baum has crowned my front top teeth which came out unbelievable. I have had so many compliments and would recommend anyone who needs minor to major work done on there teeth. The staff welcomes you like family i have known his assistants for years especially Melissa no matter how bad my teeth have been she has always made me feel comfortable and not ashamed about the condition of my teeth. So to make this long story short i recommend stonybrook family dentistry to anyone.

THE BEST DENTIST ON LONG ISLAND! First time there was on a Sunday Night for a Emergency visit Which Dr. Baum handled perfectly. Work is done in a Timely, Painless fashion and they do a wonderful job making you feel as comfortable as possible.
Dr. Baum is awesome! He makes dentist visits going so smooth. My children never complain about going there. I remember when elswere we were told my then 7 year old had 3 cavities. Dr. Baum took x-Rays and showed me that there was no cavity, not even one. Very honest, professional, super friendly stuff: Melissa and Emily. Dr. Cloughley makes our teeth so clean and shiny. Dr. Cain - orthodontist- is very thorough. Definitely the best choice of a dental practice.

I’ve been going here since middle school when I needed to get braces for my horrendous looking teeth and 4 baby teeth pulled that were never coming out. I have stayed with them ever since. Dr. Baum recently did my wisdom teeth and I was thinking it was going to be painful and hurt afterwards but the pain I was having before they came out was more painful than any of it. I did not have any pain issues during or after and it healed quickly. Dr.Baum does an amazing job with everything he does and his wife does phenomenal cleanings!! Staff there is very friendly, Highly recommend them!

I had an excruciating toothache and was referred to an endo who couldn't give me an appointment for almost a week! I was desperate and looked up "emergency dental" and found Stony Brook Family Dentistry. They were a pleasure to deal with, and got me in the next day. Dr. Baum and his staff couldn't have been nicer, and presented me with several options to my dental issue. I chose extraction.
Now let me tell you, I've only had 1 extraction in my life, and it was not a pleasant experience, but I'm telling you, as god is my witness, Dr. Baum had that extraction done before I even knew what happened! I was literally shocked at how quickly, smoothly, and painlessly it all happened. He talked me through everything he was doing, and I appreciated that.
I don't know a lot about a lot if things, but I know this: my family just found our new dentist. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
