First time going in. Since they take my insurance. Everyone so friendly. I was in and out within 1hour! Had teeth pulled.
I'd been coming here for two years and even recommended friends. Usually see a different dentist each time, which is fine—my visits were quick and painless. I rarely get cavities and have a great bite. But then I saw Dr. Shin. He seemed awkward and honestly, it was the most painful experience I've ever had at a dentist. Felt like he enjoyed it. Really disappointed.
We're sorry to hear about your experience. At WA Dental in Federal Way, we take all feedback seriously and will review this with Dr. Shin to ensure better communication and comfort. Please reach out to us directly so we can make things right.
Honestly, I've always hated going to the dentist, but WA Dental changed that. From the front desk to the chair, everyone was friendly and helpful. Dr. Marco is awesome—he took his time explaining everything and made me feel comfortable even though I hadn't been in years. So glad I found this place in Federal Way.
So happy we could make you feel comfortable! Dr. Marco and our team at WA Dental in Federal Way love helping patients get back on track with their dental health. See you next time!
BEWARE OF THIS PLACE GUYS!! I’ve been a patient at WA Dental for over two years and never had an issue—until this last visit.
In early December, I had a cleaning and the dentist told me I needed one filling, and that it didn’t look too serious. The front desk scheduled me and I asked for a price estimate because I considered waiting until January 2026 when my insurance renews.
The front desk told me if I waited until January, I’d pay around $120–$140 out of pocket. But if I did the filling before January, they said I’d only pay about $70, and they even had me sign paperwork confirming that $70-ish amount. Based on that, I booked the filling for December 26 and paid $70+ at the counter. I was clearly told that was it and they would handle insurance. No additional charges.
Then three weeks later, I get a call saying I still “owe” another $59. Excuse me? I paid what your office quoted, I signed what you put in front of me, and I was told there would be no additional balance. Now suddenly the total is about $135, which is basically the same amount you told me I’d pay in January—so what was the point of rushing in right after Christmas?
This is a huge trust issue. If your estimates are that unreliable, don’t pressure patients into decisions with incorrect numbers and signatures. To make it worse, the person who called said they would follow up—they didn’t—but the clinic had no problem sending an email demanding payment.
This is poor communication and borderline bait-and-switch billing. If this isn’t corrected, I won’t be coming back, and I’ll be finding a dental office that actually stands by what they tell patients.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re genuinely sorry for the frustration and confusion this situation caused — that’s never the experience we want for our patients, especially those who have trusted us with their care for years.
Dental insurance estimates are based on information provided by the carrier at the time of service and are not a guarantee of final payment. Occasionally, once insurance processes a claim, they may apply benefits differently than initially estimated, which can result in an unexpected balance. That said, we understand how upsetting it is to receive a bill that doesn’t align with what you were expecting, and we take feedback like this very seriously.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We value transparency and patient trust. We’d really appreciate the opportunity to review your account in detail, explain what happened, and work toward a resolution. Please contact our office directly and ask to speak with management so we can address this with you personally.

I had a small dental caries and underwent a restorative filling. Subsequently, the treated tooth developed severe and persistent pain. Upon re-evaluation and radiographic examination, it was determined that excessive tooth structure had been removed during the procedure, resulting in direct pulp exposure. The restorative material was placed directly over the exposed pulp without appropriate pulp protection. This led to pulpal necrosis and bacterial contamination. The infection progressed through the root canal system to the apical region, resulting in apical inflammation (apical periodontitis)
The Dr told me now the tooth need to Root canal TTT and it will cost 3100$ which insurance not cover you will need to pay
Broke my tooth #14 and needed an emergency extraction. Called WA Dental and they got me in within 2 hours—seriously. They took my insurance and fixed me up fast. The clinic is very clean. Dr. Cheng and her assistant Jasmine did a great job cleaning my teeth. But the front desk staff weren't very friendly—no smiles, even though I was a new patient. Also, the scent in the office was super strong, had to cover my nose. Overall decent dental care but the atmosphere could improve.
Thank you for your honest feedback. We're glad Dr. Cheng and Jasmine provided great care. We'll address the front desk friendliness and the scent issue at WA Dental in Federal Way. Your comfort matters to us.
Nothing but professionalism abd the utmost care. TK listened to my needs and explained to me in detail what procedures that I will possibly need in a clear manner that was sincere.
After, TK had me speak with Michael to further my procedure planning and financial needs/goals. Michael, was just as professional and listened carefully to my concerns fully and we both came up with a plan that meet my needs.
I highly recommend WA Dental in Federal Way for their performances and customer care practices. I don't feel like a client at all. I feel like family and that makes all the difference to me. Even the guy at the reception desk was awesome. Thank you to everyone there!
P.S. The office was very clean and bright! Not to mention that the music was great as well!!!
I have a terrible experience at a dentist office before but this was beyond unacceptable I went in there today for two wisdom tooth extractions everyone else was very nice and professional and understanding of my past traumatic experiences except for one dr Hanbit chi I have state insurance and my insurance didn’t cover the IV anesthesia and I can’t afford payment plans so I had to choose laughing gas I come back for my appointment and he’s working on me I’m telling him it hurts I can feel it I do understand that that will happen but I started to really feel it and was crying well he got frustrated and proceeded to say that I had the option to choose the iv but didn’t I told him because you said my insurance didn’t cover it then he said right so you have to take deal with it you could have done a payment plan I said I couldn’t afford that either he then said well that’s your issue I have other patients I have to open it up some to numb you I said i understand that but you told me to lift my hand up when I feel pain then he said you don’t need to cry so stop all the crying I have other patients I said I don’t like the way your talking to me it hurts I’m gonna cry he said to suck it up and pushed the last of the tooth out and walked away I will never come here again everyone else was very nice and understanding even helpful with trying to keep me relaxed but him no that has to be some type of ethic violation
Really touched by the kind consultation and treatment. They even called after to check on me. First time at a dental clinic like this—I brought my whole family. The Korean manager made the consultation comfortable and enjoyable. Hope WA Dental continues to prosper.
Thank you for trusting us with your family's care! We're so glad you felt comfortable during your consultation. At WA Dental in Federal Way, we always follow up to ensure our patients are doing well. We look forward to serving your family again.
No, I was upset because one of the teeth was growing into the sinus, the ENT doctor said this and the dentist denied it. I asked for documentation, they agreed to it. I waited for this document and then reminded about it several times, but I still haven't received it until today. This means that they ignored my request. So I'm unlikely to want to come back here because my problem hasn't been solved. But despite this they did a good job of deep cleaning.
Hi Huawei, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear you were satisfied with your deep cleaning. We’re very sorry to hear about your concern regarding documentation and communication. Our records show that our team did prepare your documentation, and we apologize if there was any delay or miscommunication in getting it to you. I had an excellent experience at WA Dental today 4/10/25 I went in for a filling and was impressed with the level of care and attention I received from Dr. Liang and her team. Dr. Liang was friendly, professional, and efficient, and she took the time to check in with me throughout the procedure to make sure I was comfortable and pain-free.
Her assistant Francine was also great - she was kind, supportive, and made me feel at ease throughout the appointment. And I can't forget about Eric at the front desk, who greeted me warmly and set the tone for a positive experience from the moment I walked in the door.
Overall, I highly recommend WA Dental to anyone looking for high-quality dental care in a friendly and welcoming environment. Keep up the good work, team!
