They were okay until my child started complaining right after the appointment. The dentist overfilled her cavities and cracked two teeth! Had to get them fixed at another dentist in Roanoke. Didn't return - really disappointed with this pediatric dentistry experience in VA.

Called We Care Dental Care in Roanoke with a painful toothache and got an appointment in less than 24 hours! Dr. Burkett and assistant Ashley were great - explained everything clearly and were patient as numbing medication worked. Did X-rays, thorough exam, found infection, extracted the tooth and gave replacement options. Hands down my best dental experience ever in Roanoke, VA! If you have a child with disabilities, please do not bring them here! The dentist has no patience for Autistic children! My son was discriminated against, so now he has to suffer with pain until we can find a dentist that will help him! If you have medicaid, don't even bother! The only people welcome here are those that are financially stable. Those that are getting government help are discriminated against! My younger sons fillings are already starting to deteriorate as we speak which is my Autistic son's brother! He talks a good game but when it comes down to it, I wouldn't bring my dead dog here! How would you feel having an Autistic son who is in pain and the doctor refuses to see him again! God will have the last laugh!🙏
Your child was NOT discriminated against because he is Autistic. I have an autistic individual in my own direct family, and I even just did some dental work on an Autistic patient on Thursday. Your child was referred out because they need treatment that is outside the scope of my practice. I do not offer the services your child needs to any patient. It is unfortunate that your specialist options are limited by your insurance. In recent years, the number of dentists who can offer the services your child needs has been steadily declining in our region.
Please contact your local political representative and let them know you would like to see more funding for programs like Medicaid so that children like your son have better access to dental and medical care.

I was searching for a dentist in Roanoke who could provide mercury-free fillings and came across We Care Dentist while researching biological dentists. Since I wanted a natural approach to my dental care, I called them on a Friday or Saturday. They didn’t answer at first, but the dentist himself called me back on Monday.
When we spoke, I mentioned that I had just gone to another dentist for a check-up and x-rays. Before I could finish explaining, he interrupted me, assuming I was asking if they could use the other dentist’s x-rays. He quickly told me they would need to do their own exam. I understood that, since I was actually open to getting a second opinion, but I noticed he seemed a bit irritated during the call.
Even though I felt something in me telling me to cancel, I went ahead with the appointment. When I arrived, I filled out paperwork and was moved to another room due to technical difficulties. His assistant asked how I found out about them, and I shared that I was looking into holistic dentistry.
When the main dentist came in, he immediately made it clear they were not a holistic practice. Instead of simply explaining that, he went on to criticize holistic dentists, calling them “quacks” and dismissing treatments I hadn’t even asked about, such as ozone therapy. I wasn’t looking for any of those extra services—I just wanted a safe, mercury-free filling.
Because of my cultural beliefs and heritage, I try to live in a way that is as holistic as possible. I am not against modern dentistry, but when possible, I choose natural options. Rather than respecting that choice, he made my way of life sound foolish and unnecessary. That felt dismissive, condescending, and out of line for someone in a healing profession.
Ultimately, I chose not to proceed with treatment there. Maybe I caught him on a bad day, but my experience left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected.
An hour later, I called LAT Dentistry and set up an appointment for October. From the very first call, they were professional, patient, and genuinely helpful. They made me feel comfortable, respected, and valued as a person—not just as a patient. I am already looking forward to being a part of their practice and working with people who honor my choices and treat me with dignity.
If you’re someone who values professionalism, respect, and understanding in your healthcare providers, I would encourage you to consider your options carefully. For me, it was clear that We Care Dentist was not the right fit.

Firstly, we are not open and do not claim to be open on Saturday or Sunday. All patient calls during the weekend are returned on Mondays. I have never, nor does my website state that I am a holistic, natural, or biological dentist. Many of these practices are not founded on quality research, and so I do not recommend them to my patients.
I do not consider myself holistic, but I consider myself comprehensive. Your review did not discuss the very serious and overlooked problems that you have not addressed in decades.

Ive been taking my kids to spencer dental which before that was known as small smiles. Ive always said they need a new dentist cause the appointments be too long, they are unprofessional & i felt like they didnt care for my childrens teeth forreal. So i looked on google in the past couple days, made an appointment and got seen within them couple of days. Ive went today and the staff is so nice and its so clean and felt like they cared. 1 of the assistants name Jamie is the sweetest and im glad i found my babies a new dentist. 10/10 and would definitely recommend!

Ever since COVID-19 Happened, Getting Pediatric Dental Appointment happens to be a Real pain. In 2020 It was IMPOSSIBLE to get an appointment for my 2 toddler girls, Even for me and my husband too.
Due to Me And My husband's job schedule it's impossible to set up or keep up with 7 months ahead appointment. I've called probably 5 different Dentist's office. Every Dental office around From My area(By the Westlake) to Roanoke are either Not seeing 2 yo girl, Or out-of-network for our Dental insurance(Delta Dental), or Telling me that There are No spot for at least 4-7 months from present date, If you are a New patient. Meaning Reschedule would be another 4-7 months later from original Appointment date If I have to change it. So I've been keep checking on them.
My 6 yo started complaining about tooth pain and Finally I decided that can't wait no longer, I was even ready to go to see the 'Out of network' Dentist to take care of her teeth.
Then I magically found We care Dental Care! Today was our First visit with my 2 yo and 6 yo, And lucky for us We could take care of all of my 6yo's Teeth problems include Cleaning Crown filing etc.,(That's because someone canceled his/hers appointment but Definitely Worked out for me!)
I've been to few doctors office from UVA to Different Carillion facilities or even MDVIP, Met Some Nice doctors and wonderful nurses. But Dr. B and everyone Here are beyond Wonderful! They are Extremely nice, They will work with you, And They are Sooooo good Especially with little ones! If you're looking for good pediatric dentist I strongly Recommend to go here and see Dr B. My 6yo didn't cry during her 30 minute treatment (and that's magical lol) and They gives you cool duckling after visit!
And Most of all, When I called up the office for the first time to set up a appointment, My Appointment date was only 5 Days later from that day I called. Me and hubby has been going to different Dental office at Valley view(That's simply because they were only so-called Well advertised place around here and Does Accept our Dental insurance) but We are considering to Choose We Care Dental Care as our Family dentistry. See our cool ducklings!
