My wife went to Westdale Dentistry for an initial exam and cleaning through HealthX. The admin staff was great, but the dental exam wasn't good at all. They had her hold the x-ray probe because it wouldn't adjust properly, and the device had sharp edges that hurt when they moved it around. The cleaning was even more painful—the dentist kept hooking her upper gums, and at one point blood was running through her cheek. She had to ask them to stop because of the pain. We won't be coming back to this Hamilton clinic.

It is easy to book an appointment and the staff are nice. However, you will suddenly have multiple cavity fillings despite having good dental health. Be careful if you do not have insurance or limited coverage.

Sometimes, we can have great dental health for years and sometimes we get cavities even though we try our best with our oral hygiene. Our job is to tell you what we see when you visit our office, whether or not you get treatment is completely up to you! If you have questions regarding your diagnosis, we encourage you to ask questions and if you forget to ask questions, we would love to bring you in for a consult and go over your xrays, intra oral pictures, and treatment plan to show you what was diagnosed and why.
We're not sure what you mean by "Be careful if you do not have insurance or limited coverage." If a patient of ours has limited coverage, we prioritize what's important for them and advise them on best treatment options. We even have financing options for those who need it.
If a patient doesn't have dental insurance, we happily direct them to apply for the new CDCP program. We also don't charge additional fee's as many offices do with the CDCP program. On top of that, our doors are also open for those on ODSP, IFHP, and NIHB. Furthermore, we are proud members of the Student Dental Network which provide students up to 30% off on treatment!

Can't recommend Westdale Dentistry enough, especially for someone with dental anxiety like me. Dr. Wissam is a great dentist in Hamilton—he always takes time to explain things, and I barely felt my fillings. Had a wisdom tooth extracted last year too, felt nothing and healed perfectly. The dental assistants and receptionist Vanessa are also super kind and helpful!

Poor Hygiene!! I would NOT go there for cleaning. The dental hygienist helping me did not change her gloves after using them to type on the keyboard, touch the door and other surfaces. I had to keep reminding her, and she got upset!! I am sorry, I don't care how much you clean your keyboard, door and other surfaces, if you are putting your hand in patient's mouth, you should use clean gloves! You are charging patients 100s of dollars, and this is not a lot to ask! The fact that I had to tell her this like 10 times during my visit tells me that is how she works. I would never go back. At this dentist, basic hygiene is something that is optional.

Every time i get my scaling by Rita it's a nice experience, she talks to me , makes sure I'm comfortable. I enjoy my dentist visits, Dr.Debis is great. The young bubbly lady he worked with today was so delightful. The front desk staff are always fr too, great place to go!
