After my dentist retired, I was relieved to find Woodlake Family Dental in Woodridge, IL accepts my insurance. Honestly, they were super nice and helpful from the start. Got taken in right at my appointment time, and the x-rays and cleaning were done quickly. Didn't have any gagging issues like I sometimes did at my old place. Dr. Susan Chung was great—she actually talked with me about any concerns before checking my teeth. She found an old filling that was cracked and recommended replacing it to avoid problems later. Really pleased with how thorough they were with my general dentistry needs.

Would never come here again they canceled my appointment because she say the doctor had an emergency didn't call to To stop me from coming she called to just confirm my appointment left a voicemail confirming, if she would have said the doctor was leaving. I wouldn't have wasted my time driving all the way there, Very inconsiderate People, I asked her how many doctors are here because I usually see the woman Doctor they had me seeing a man, Doctor, She told me 2 and she said that my doctor was on vacation but A Caucasian lady came in behind me and they took her so if my doctor's on vacation there's only two doctors here. Why did they take the lady its giving racist very disappointed in this place been coming here for a few years will never come back. Smh

I’ve been going here a few years and always had good experiences. But I wanted to write specifically to compliment one of the dental hygienists, Noor. She did a wonderful job and was very kind and personable. I often feel nervous during cleanings but she put me right at ease. If I could give Noor six stars I would!
We're new to the area & thought we'd give Woodlake a try and I'm so glad we did! They are all very friendly and professional and made me feel at ease. I'm sure my husband will also be happy to go there.
A practice that makes you feel you are living in the third world!
I've been a patient at this practice for a year, but today was a nightmare. I had a cleaning appointment scheduled months ago, but I couldn't cancel it earlier because of the long weekend. So, they hit me with a $50 fine for not canceling within 48 hours. That seemed unfair, especially since I tried to call, but the office was closed for three days.
Things only got worse from there. The front desk lady, Brianna, was really rude and passive-aggressive. Later, I brought my 9-year-old daughter in for her appointment and gave Brianna the new insurance card. She said I should have given it to them 24 hours earlier to verify the insurance. I asked why they were suddenly doing this, and she didn't have a good answer. Then, the manager, Alex, came over and claimed this was a standard rule everywhere in the US. But when I pressed her for a reason, she gave me weird answers. I suggested they could just check the insurance and bill me if there was an issue, but she said they couldn't do that. I ended up canceling the visit and deciding not to come back to this practice. It's just not worth my time and energy.
Edit: 5 star review, Feb 1, 2025. BreAnna is the absolute best! Always a friendly hello and fun/informative conversation with her as you enter. She’s able to answer any questions I may have and provide appointment options if available. Today I went in for a routine cleaning and Tess was my dental hygienist. She was wonderful! She answered all of my questions and provided information without making me feel judged. She was down to earth and allowed me to have a great experience this time around. I saw Dr. Chung after. I always enjoy my checkins with her because she listens to what is going on and provides friendly feedback. Thank you 🙂
2 star review, Jan 2024: Woodlake is very close to where I live so when I found this dentist office I was ecstatic. I’ve had decent experiences throughout the few years I’ve gone there, always greeted with a hello and a smile as I enter. However, my last few experiences weren’t the greatest. To be transparent, I know I don’t have the best teeth, but I also do not, by any means, have the worst teeth. During my last appointment this past Saturday I felt very judged. I’ve seen numerous dentist and dental hygienist there and some are friendlier than others. I already have high anxiety going to the dentist in general and when I come in and feel like I’m talked down to, it’s not a fun or enjoyable experience.
I cannot say enough good things about this office. The reception staff are all very friendly and accommodating.
I am very afraid of going to the dentist - as I had some pretty awful experiences in the past. I was open and honest about this fear at my initial visit. They always make sure that I am comfortable.
I have had work done by Dr. Chung quite a few times. When I had my fillings done by her I almost fell asleep … twice! This was without nitrous!
I hope if you are looking for a dentist in the area that you check this office out. They are awesome!
I called in inquiring about pain I had, was able to get an appointment next day. Even though the extraction specialist was out on vacation the doctor that assisted me represented himself as a professional nonetheless, he gave me options and made me feel comfortable. Dental appointments can be very intimidating, so feeling comfort while in pain was a new for me. I choose to wait a week to get all 4 wisdom teeth extracted at once! I was given prescriptions to help with the pain. The entire process was explained to me thoroughly I didn’t feel as if I was being rushed. I felt I got a personalized experience and I felt welcomed by the entire staff. They accepted my insurance told me what I’d be paying up front and for that honesty and good business I paid in advanced. Can’t wait until my appointment, everyone wish me luck.
