Went to Dr. Nguyen in May 2022 because a previous root canal was causing pain. I told him I had dental anxiety and asked him to be gentle and explain what he was doing. He basically said I was crazy and couldn't be in pain because there was no nerve. Then he pressed dry ice to my tooth, causing extreme pain. I winced and teared up, asked him to stop. He scoffed and did it again, saying I was crazy. He said he didn't see an issue and could try to redo the root canal, but...

Had a consultation with Dr. Nguyen recently and honestly, his bedside manner was the worst I've ever seen in a healthcare professional, and I've lived in Seattle since 1990. He didn't even bother to fake a greeting or smile, which you'd think most people would do for a first meeting. His rough manners were completely off-putting. You can tell a lot from body language—he seemed distracted and disinterested, just speeding through like I was just a number. I had reminded the office many times I emailed my x-rays beforehand. Not what I expected for an endodontist in Federal Way.

Amazing doctor. Had a tooth hurting for almost two months—another dentist placed a crown hoping it would help, but the tooth was too damaged and needed an urgent root canal. Dr. Nguyen's office fit me in an hour after I called. Treated very well, successful and mostly painless procedure (hard to anesthetize an inflamed tooth, so don't wait!). Definitely recommend him and his team for anyone needing a root canal in Federal Way.

Dr. Moran saved me! I had tooth pain for 4 days, when I say tooth pain I mean severe extreme pain. His office staff worked me in ASAP. 6:45am appt. Root canal was painless and his compassion was awesome. Patty was so kind and she worked with me as far as payment. I highly recommend South Seattle Endodontics.
Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Moran and their staff are all excellent at what they do. They are very caring. I received very prompt care for the problem I was having. This was a second time I had seen Dr. Nguyen for a dental problem and I have been very pleased with the care I received both times.
This summer I needed two emergency root canals, and my dentist sent me to Dr. Nguyen. Both times, he worked me into his schedule with grace and made sure each was necessary before starting. The care and concern I felt from the dental assistants was amazing! They brought me a blanket and they kept checking on me to see if I was comfortable. Dr. Nuygen was great! Literally no pain after a root canal. I highly recommend his services.

This was a sensitive tooth that became a root canal. Crazy situation but excellent dental care.
A tooth had been bothering me for 3 days. I saw my dentist, then got sent to Dr. Nguyen. Short, fast, yes I need a root canal. Out to the front desk and get asked: "How does 7 AM tomorrow sound?" Good news, I don't have to deal with the tooth. Bad news, my wife isn't a morning person.
In the "middle of the night," as my wife said, we arrived. Dr. Moran talks with me, checks and confirms the need. He takes the time to talk about my concerns. Simply put, I've had some bad dental care and really don't like to go to the dentist. Pain killer, nitrous, root canal and done. I'm out with detailed instructions.
Third day after care, I get a pleasant phone call asking how I'm doing. Realized later the call was a detailed check on how I was doing.
How to evaluate the care? I had a tooth problem and it was treated very quickly. The entire staff were highly skilled. While treatment was fast, I never felt like a number or "The root canal in number 4."
While I really don't like root canals, the care could not have been better or faster. I high recommend Dr. Nguyen, Dr Moran and their staff.
My experience with this practice was strange to say the least. Upon arrival to my consultation I entered and wasn't greeted or even acknowledged for about 4-5 minutes while the receptionist stared at her computer as the dental assistant and another woman who didn't even look like she even worked there (jeans and a t shirt with a large food stain across the front) began to argue right in front of me. The specialist was vague and hard to get straight answers out of and essentially was going to do nothing that my regular dentist would have done but there fees were significantly higher? I did set up and appointment to come back but canceled a week before hand which seems like and ample amount of time. They didn't have my much flexibility on there next appointment so I was stuck with a time that didn't really work that well but I needed to get the work done soon. Unfortunately I had to cancel that one as well so I called a week ahead of time again and no one answered so I left a voicemail to call me back. I called again later that day and still didn't get and answer so I called one more time before closing and still didn't receive and answer so I left a second voicemail to confirm I would not be available the following week. I never heard from them again to follow up or anything. I called in when my schedule was more open a couple weeks after and the receptionist told me I was NO LONGER WELCOME TO USE THERE PRACTICE do to my no call no show as if this was my place of employment and I was fired??? I have never heard of such a thing anywhere in any sort of medical/ dental practice. I asked why they hadn't replied to my voicemail and she said that they never checked there voicemail which I don't understand how that is a patients fault she didn't do her job and if they hadn't received the voicemail why they didn't call before the appointment to remind or confirm. Very unprofessional and honestly the strangest encounter I have ever had with a dental or medical practice.

I'm a big scaredy cat, so that was huge. The process was quick, painless, and as pleasant as a root canal can be. The root canal was done perfectly—no issues since. Back in 2004 I had a root canal done with a crown on my molar tooth. The doctor that had the job done did not clean out one of the canals very well. About a year ago that tooth got swollen so I went to see Dr.Dzuy. He was very helpful and cleaned the root canal thoroughly followed by a crown. But just recently I got pain and swelling on that tooth again. Dr. Dzuy had to perform a surgery to fix the problem. I am very happy with the procedure and Dr. Dzhuy. My tooth doesn't bother me anymore. I wish I went here in the first place. I will recommend Dr. Dzuy to anyone!
I recently had my second root canal with Dr. Nguyen. I was comfortable during the rather long procedure and informed of everything that would happen. Afterward I had minor pain for a couple days but after that back to 100%. I hope I won't need more of this kind of dental work but if I do I will come back to Dr. Nguyen.
One of the best experiences I've had at a dentist office. When Dr. Zee gave the anesthetic, no pinch—smooth as silk. The cost was very good, and the root canal took less than an hour. He even gave me a prescription for penicillin just in case. Overall a great experience. This is the second time he's done a root canal for me in Federal Way.

You need a root canal, not the words any of us want to hear. Decay under an old crown had reached the root and the pain was overwhelming.
Dr. Nguyen saw me right away, knew exactly what needed to be done and did it with no, yes, the right word, no additional pain. The tooth was sensitive for two days but there was no pain. I've had a lot of dental work done and it doesn't get better than this.
Can't say enough great things about Dr. Nguyen and his staff. Friendly, helpful, very professional. Dr. Nguyen has outstanding chairside manners, explains everything, and makes you feel at ease.
